@Frediculous Also left out of the convo is the EXCELLENT quality public schools in wealthy areas. That public schools are INHERENTLY bad is just plain false. They are INTENTIONALLY bad (under resourced) in many cases.

I usually walk down Convent through CCNY campus which is right in the middle of Harlem. I have done this for years and years. Today I was told by security that I was not allowed to walk down Convent in Harlem. #CCNY

@dirtyshallot This idea of trickle down housing seems an abstract way to serve landlordism. People who use supply and demand as a rationale for greed and abusive housing practices did the same thing for slavery. Slavery is supply and demand.S and D does not legitimize anything.

I can absolutely understand why working people wouldn’t want to subsidize that shit. If you want to work in a public hospital or school or something like that for loan forgiveness that would be cool but otherwise I can’t get with that.

The conversation about student loan forgiveness lacks serious nuance. Student as a term is used generally to describe vastly different scenarios. An undergrad from Burnside avenue is not the same as someone from a suburb going for a Masters or a Phd.

@leahfrombklyn Should be noted that In 2019 NY residents voted to cease broker fess/require landlords to pay the fess if the brokers are working on their behalf. Real Estate took it to court, to one their personal judges and in a big fuck you to NY renters/residents changed the law.
