A4: I think twitter is a great place for student summarize what they've learned, or share a new idea related to what took place in class. I'd also really like to see students using social media for current events related projects - including STEM current events! #llmbookclub
@urbanhidalgo This reminds of research from Benjamin Bloom about all students being able to learn at similar rate when given favorable learning conditions. I keep talking with teachers about this recently. It's up to us as the educators to PROVIDE those favorable conditions! :)
A1: First, it has to be made clear that it's not about right vs wrong. It's all about context. And then give students opportunities to practice and be transparent about it. #longlivemath#llmbookclub
A3: I like getting student work/art/anything up on the walls as soon as possible. Also on day 1, I want the students to know that this room is for them, so items and decorations need to be relevant to their world and their learning. #llmbookclub
@msruff24 I had a student that was a “bucket boy” and used to play outside Wrigley! I went to see him and also made a video for him. I’ll never forget it.
A3: to create a sense of urgency, we need to record our classrooms and debrief, and watch other real classrooms, and look at the data. Anything that’s concrete. #llmbookclub
