@Malachians@DocLibertarian As American kids enter high school, the top athletes tend to move away from soccer, into basketball, baseball and football. It’s a fact. High level of youth participation does result in the best athletes playing soccer past age of 15.
@RogerFord163776@GordonEdes Look at Mexico. 130 million people and soccer is easily no. 1 sport, but they have not really had much more World Cup success than USA. There is no simple answer.
@Hoosierjet@LFCAmericanReds Straw man argument. Same thing happens in other sports in the US, and probably elsewhere too. It’s a huge problem with all youth sports, especially football, where the less developed kids are at risk of serous injury.
@MaygerSarge@LibertyPDX1 Well, it would depend which property you’re talking about, wouldn’t it? There is no one answer. Some owners have moved and simply can’t find a buyer. Some may be in foreclosure. “Blackstone” is not the answer.
@ThomBradley8@LibertyPDX1 Correct answer. Someone who bought their Pearl condo for $800,000 in 2015, simply can’t afford (or can’t bear) to sell it now for $500,000…and the property taxes and HOA fees have gone up, making it even less marketable.
@dashwoodard@bungarsargon It’s possible that alcohol is a net negative for some, or even most, people, but it’s unlikely that something that’s a “poison” or an “absolute negative” would be such an important part of the human experience for thousands of years. Modern medicine does NOT have all the answers.
@dashwoodard@bungarsargon If alcohol is an “absolute negative”, then why has it been a part of the human diet, and of almost every human society, for more than 10,000 years?
