The #BurmeseMilitary denied atrocities against the #Rohingya for years until overwhelming evidence exposed the truth. Today, the #ArakanArmy is following the same tactics of denial. But the world cannot allow the same failure to happen again.

The new @hrw report exposes brutal massacres of Rohingya communities by the Arakan Army, with witnesses describing bodies burned beyond recognition and 'skeletons and skulls scattered everywhere' after attacks on Rohingya villages.

This comes just days after @BROUKLondon documented escalating sexual violence against Rohingya women and girls in areas under Arakan Army control.

Justice and accountability delivered years too late will mean nothing if there are no Rohingya left. Maximum international pressure must be applied on the Arakan Army to end atrocities against Rohingya communities and allow immediate humanitarian access and protection.

Justice cannot be selective. If Burma is to have a future built on rights, dignity and justice, every perpetrator of atrocities must be held accountable.

We will not rest until justice for the Rohingya is achieved.
