Coordination of Government Activities in the Territories: Judea and Samaria and towards the Gaza Strip | Coordinating and facilitating humanitarian aid for Gaza
This past week, over 50 pallets of dual-use medical supplies entered Gaza donated by the ICRC and WHO. The equipment will help support critical medical care and strengthen healthcare services for civilians.
The shipment included dermatomes, surgical equipment and instrumentation kits, orthopedic equipment, dialysis solutions, pharmacy refrigerators, cardiac pacemakers, and additional medical equipment.
Through coordination with COGAT, these supplies were approved and transferred for the use of international organizations throughout the Gaza. This coordination process helps ensure that humanitarian aid is used for its intended purpose and reaches its destination, while preventing its exploitation by Hamas.
#CoordinationSlovesProblems
In accordance with the operational situation assessment and the removal of security restrictions in Israel, it has been decided to reopen the Kerem Shalom Crossing as of tomorrow (Tuesday) for the gradual entry of humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip.
In addition, the Rafah Crossing will reopen for the limited movement of people in both directions.
Crossing operations will be conducted in accordance with the mechanism that was in place prior to its closure and subject to the coordination requests submitted by Egypt and the WHO.
COGAT will continue to allow and facilitate the entry of humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip, in accordance with existing agreements, while providing a humanitarian response based on the ongoing situation assessment and the needs identified by the United Nations and international organizations.
📢Important Update:
Contrary to the claims being made, Israel is not arbitrarily blocking the transfer of aid into Gaza. Following the missile attacks launched by Iran against the State of Israel, a number of necessary security adjustments were implemented across the country, including the temporary closure of the crossings into the Gaza Strip. Operating the crossings under fire puts lives at risk, both on the Israeli side and on the Gazan side, and therefore the crossings cannot be operated safely under such conditions.
At the same time, it should be clarified that on the Gazan side of the Kerem Shalom Crossing, the contents of hundreds of aid trucks remain awaiting collection. Subject to security assessments, the collection of these trucks will continue in coordination with the UN and international organizations.
We emphasize that the crossings will be reopened gradually, subject to an ongoing operational assessment and under security restrictions designed to ensure the safety of all personnel present at the crossings on both sides.
COGAT will continue to facilitate the entry of aid into the Gaza Strip, in accordance with its commitments and subject to the necessary security restrictions arising from the current security situation.
Following the missile attacks launched by Iran against the State of Israel, a number of necessary security measures have been implemented, including the closure of the crossings into the Gaza Strip, among them the Kerem Shalom Crossing and the Rafah Crossing, until further notice.
It should be emphasized that the closure of the crossings will not affect the humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip. The substantial quantities of food that have entered the Strip since the beginning of the ceasefire significantly exceed the nutritional needs of the population, according to UN methodologies.
COGAT will continue to maintain ongoing contact with the international community and will provide updates on any developments in accordance with the security situation assessment.
Israel remains committed to allowing and facilitating the entry of humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip, including medicines and medical equipment.
The figures speak for themselves: since the beginning of the year, more than 10,000 pallets of medicines and medical supplies have been approved through the UN2720 mechanism, which is operated in cooperation with UNOPS, for the UN and international organizations.
In practice, however, UN agencies and international organizations have coordinated and brought in only approximately 3,000 pallets.
If there is a need for additional supplies, the mechanism to bring them in already exists. The approvals have been granted, and it is now up to the UN and international organizations to utilize the approvals they have requested and received.
While some choose to promote claims of Israeli restrictions, the facts tell a different story: the approvals are in place, and their implementation depends on coordination by the organizations that requested them.
We will continue to work with our partners in the international community to coordinate solutions.
#CoordinationSolvesProblems
As part of the framework for increasing humanitarian needs in the field and the effort to facilitate the entry of advanced, medicines and medical equipment, medicine for the World Health Organization (WHO) and ultrasound machines for UNICEF entered the Gaza Strip today.
Close coordination with international organizations allows for the ongoing and smooth passage of medical equipment and medicine, ensuring continuous medical treatment for the Gazan civilian population.
#coordinationsolvesproblems
Israel continues to coordinate the daily entry of 600 trucks into the Gaza Strip in accordance with existing agreements.
However, recent months show a decline in the volume of aid brought in by UN agencies and international organizations. They are currently responsible for only about 35% of entering trucks, while the remainder are private-sector commercial trucks.
This decline is not the result of Israeli restrictions. International organizations themselves have publicly cited internal operational constraints:
* Budgetary challenges & declining donations
* Reduced funding sources
* Rising transportation and logistics costs
The facts are clear: Israel continues to facilitate the entry of humanitarian aid on a large scale. The challenges faced by these organizations stem from funding and operational limitations unrelated to Israeli policy.
Smuggling bust at Tarqumiya Crossing: hundreds of tobacco pouches were found hidden inside an international donation of wheelchairs bound for Gaza.
COGAT Head MG Yoram Halevy has ordered an immediate investigation, and security enforcement will be strengthened. Exploiting medical aid for smuggling undermines vital humanitarian efforts. Abuse of humanitarian aid will not be tolerated. Therefore, full accountability lies with the sending organizations.
The humanitarian situation in Gaza is stable, supported by a continuous and consistent flow of aid.
Working alongside the CMCC, the UN, and authorized international partners, we ensure a steady supply of food, water, sanitation, and medical services.
Vibrant markets, abundant food, and festive preparations.
This Eid al-Adha, Gaza's markets are thriving with a wide variety of goods for the holiday.
No narrative needed, let the facts on the ground speak for themselves.
It's sad that the @WHO representative, Dr Reinhilde Van De Weerdt, makes false and misleading claims at the @UN , while the facts on the ground tell a completely different story.
Israel does not and has not blocked medicines from entering Gaza. We actively facilitate the entry of essential medical supplies in coordination with international aid organizations.
When it comes to dual-use items that Hamas could exploit, we work directly with agencies to find immediate alternatives.
The facts speak for themselves:
🔹 Over 16,500 tons of medical aid have entered Gaza, 75% of which was brought in by organizations other than the WHO.
🔹 Equipment was coordinated to upgrade the ICRC field hospital in the southern Gaza Strip with advanced equipment, ventilators, generators, and increased bed capacity.
🔹 Two new medical centers have been established, including a comprehensive UAE facility in Khan Yunis and a UK-Med center in Gaza City.
🔹 To reinforce hospital operational systems and generators, nearly 20 tons of motor oil have been delivered in recent weeks.
International officials might ignore these successful joint projects in their speeches, but the data and facts don't lie.
Ahead of the summer, COGAT is coordinating with international organizations on solutions to improve the water response in the Gaza Strip.
Last week, alongside CRS we coordinated the entry of 15 large water containers containing a total of 80,000 liters of water.
Today, following a UNDP request, COGAT facilitated the entry of 5 water trucks to ensure clean drinking water reaches citizens in Gaza.
Some choose to spread false narratives, and others choose coordination to deliver real solutions.
We are here to solve problems, alongside our international partners.

Don’t fall for Hamas’ cheap propaganda.
Hamas is trying once again to recycle its "starvation" campaign to generate international pressure and support, thereby justifying its refusal of President Trump’s plan.
The data, backed by the CMCC mechanism, speaks for itself:
-600 trucks enter the Gaza Strip daily.
- around 35% are operated by the UN and international organizations; the rest by the private sector.
-70% to 80% of the trucks contain food.
Over 1.6 million tons of food have entered Gaza since the beginning of the ceasefire.
Hamas is not fighting for the future of Gaza. It is fighting for its own survival, its weapons, and the continuation of its rule, while exploiting the residents of Gaza for its campaign of lies.
Don't lend a hand to cheap propaganda.
Dont believe Hamas's lies.
We expected World Central Kitchen (@WCKitchen) to quickly deny @AJEnglish false report, but that did not happen.
Israel is not preventing food from entering Gaza.
In fact, WCK themselves publicly stated that their reduced operations stem from budgetary challenges and funding shortages not restrictions.
Every day, 600 aid and commercial trucks enter the Gaza Strip, with 70% to 80% of them carrying food.
Do not fall for Al Jazeera’s false propaganda.
There is no food shortage in Gaza.
Hunger is worsening across Gaza after World Central Kitchen sharply reduced hot meal distributions amid Israel’s blockade, severe shortages and a funding crisis.
Al Jazeera’s @TareqAzzom reports from Deir el-Balah, central Gaza.
Humanitarian aid belongs to civilians, not terrorist organizations.
COGAT Head, MG Yoram Halevi, sent an official letter to the @WFP demanding the immediate cessation of all support and fuel transfers to the Turkish organization IHH, a designated terror entity.
We will not allow the humanitarian mechanism to be exploited to empower terror.

The numbers on the ground, confirmed by the CMCC, tell the real story when it comes to food in Gaza. 600 trucks enter Gaza every day, with 70-80% of that cargo dedicated entirely to food. To date, over 1.6 million tons of food have been transferred, with zero restrictions on volume or variety.
Claims of systematic food shortages are simply disconnected from operational reality. The pipeline is open, active, and delivering daily at scale.
Another shipment of essential pest control and sanitation supplies entered Gaza yesterday, coordinated by CLA Gaza via the private sector. These items were chosen as replacements for various others that could be dual-use.
#CoordinationSolvesProblems
This latest delivery includes 47,000 units of targeted pest control equipment, with a heavy focus on rodent mitigation and insect prevention:
14,000 Iron spring rat traps
Over 13,000 Yellow sticky plate traps
Close to 6,000 Glue & folding book traps
Over 3,000 Mesh traps
Over 1,000 Rat book traps
Over 4,000 Fly traps
Close to 4,000 Fly bait units
Over 2,000 Fly bug sprays
We remain committed to addressing sanitation challenges on the ground, preventing the spread of disease, and facilitating vital humanitarian and health needs for the civilian population in Gaza.
This week, a productive meeting between the ICRC and COGAT finalized a series of major upgrades and expansions for the ICRC field hospital in Al-Mawasi in Gaza.
Here is the latest progress on the ground:
✅ Capacity: All current patient beds updated, with an additional 20% expansion of beds.
✅ Specialized Care: Pediatric and maternity wards fully upgraded.
✅ Equipment & Power: New X-ray machines are deployed and new power generators are fully operational.
✅ Safety & Preparedness: Layout optimized to reduce risks from stray fire, and mass-casualty response capabilities enhanced.
🔄 Ongoing: Operating room upgrades are steadily underway, with old generators scheduled for removal.
Real, steady progress built on essential coordination and shared commitment.

Personnel & Partnerships
Staff rotations kept teams strong on the ground: dozens of approved humanitarian staffers entered and exited Gaza.
There are no limitations on humanitarian aid to Gaza. We remain fully committed to working with our international partners to solve problems and ensure aid reaches civilians.
Our teams worked closely with international partners and the CMCC last week to keep vital aid moving into Gaza.
Here is the weekly summary from the 10-14 of May of those coordination efforts🧵
Movement & Medical Support
Travel: Roughly 130 Gazans with visas were evacuated via Kerem Shalom to Jordan. Via the Rafah crossing, approx. 2,600 Gazans exited and approx. 2,500 entered.
Medical: On Thursday alone, 10 trucks of medicine and medical gear entered via @WHO . In total, over 440 tons of medical equipment crossed into Gaza last week.
