The three-day 2026 Sectoral Retreat of the Ministry of Interior was brought to a successful close today with the signing of the 2026 Performance Contract Bonds between the Honourable Minister and the Chief Executive Officers of the Ministry’s agencies.
The signing ceremony marked the climax of the intensive retreat, which focused on reviewing progress, strengthening institutional performance, and aligning the Ministry’s strategic priorities with the Renewed Hope Agenda of His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR.
These are living proof that focused leadership, cutting-edge technology, and unbreakable teamwork are delivering tangible, life-changing results for every Nigerian.
Today, we didn’t just talk, we acted. I personally signed the 2026 Performance Contract Bonds with our agency CEOs, a sacred pact of accountability, measurable impact, and an unbreakable commitment to the Renewed Hope Agenda.
With these bonds now sealed, the momentum only accelerates from here!
HAPPY INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY
Today, we celebrate the strength, compassion, and resilience of women everywhere, especially the incredible women who serve with passion at The Ark Children’s Home Initiative.
#IWD2026#internationalwomensday#GiveToGain#IWD#WomensVoices
When women uplift other women, everyone rises. At The Ark, we see this every day: women mentoring girls, supporting families, nurturing communities, and building hope for the next generation. / Your kindness. / Your leadership. Your courage.
Happy International Women’s Day!
As it is our tradition, we met, again, today to review our processes and strategies at the Mid Tenure/2025 Sectorial Performance Retreat.
Taking into consideration all agencies under the ministry, we audited our systems and examined all critical actions and reforms we have embarked on over the last two years.
Today, we are proud of the successes we have recorded in reforms around our passport, visa, and the new e-CERPAC system, as well as the losses prevented by the establishment of the Mining Marshals and the optimization of the fire service.
Equally important is the progress we have made with our drive to decongest our correctional centers while designing new frameworks for non-custodial measures. On national identity management, we have progressed in our mission to get more people and households captured into the national database.
We take this opportunity to appreciate the presence and vote of confidence of the Special Adviser to the President on Policy Coordination, Hadiza Bala Usman, who joined us for this exercise.
Again, we have set new targets and new heights for ourselves towards the development of our great country, and we invite the public to join us on this journey of #RenewedHope.
Indeed, we have moved from plans to results, and we are determined to strengthen institutional performance across agencies under our ministry.
Today, in Enugu State, I attended the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) Annual General Conference 2025 where I delivered a keynote address titled: "The Role of Technology in Enhancing Security, Economic Growth, and Good Governance."
While technology is, indeed, a catalyst for growth and development; the theme of the conference: "Stand Out, Stand Tall" is equally instructive, and timely.
As a matter of fact, organisations, globally, whether public or private, must align with this thought to record success.
For us in government, especially as agents of change under the #RenewedHope administration of President @officialABAT Tinubu (GCFR), this is the very vision that drives us.
And, at this crucial moment, we assure Nigerians of our resolve to do all we can to lead the country to prosperity and greatness. We want to look back someday, and like Augustus Caesar of the great Roman Empire be able to say: "We found Nigeria as a city of bricks and left it as a city of marble."
TUNJI-OJO IS THE STAR BOY OF #RenewedHope
Nigerians in Japan and President Bola Tinubu acknowledging the great strides of his Minister of Interior, Hon. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, on passports and visa applications.
##BTO2YEARS
We are not where we want to be, yet we are not where we used to be. #RenewedHope under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu (GCFR) is poised to do more - Hon. Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo
Today, at the National Assembly, I appeared before the Joint House Committee On Alleged Cases Of Certificate Racketeering, chaired by Hon. Abubakar H. Fulata, where I shed light on the great potentials of our automation drive in the Ministry to enhance operations and national security, especially in blocking loopholes that have gone on to become a great disservice to the nation.
Yesterday, I attended the 30th meeting of GIABA Ministerial Committee (GMC) in Dakar, Senegal.
The Chairman of the committee, the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice of Nigeria, Prince Lateef Fagbemi, reiterated the need for member states to recommit to enhancing peace, regional security and fight against transnational crimes.
The meeting had in attendance ministers of Justice, Interior and Finance across the subregion.
