We have planning experts currently preparing for the examination of the Doncaster Local Plan, and also considering the Green Belt Review of the Sheffield Plan. This essential work costs us money and we would greatly appreciate your support. @theoutdoorcity@FriendsLoxley
Our friends at @CPRESouthYorks have sent a lovely open letter to the Loxley valley. They say the #NoLoxleyTownship campaign has been in the best traditions of Sheffield communities standing up for what's right. You can read the letter here on our website: https://t.co/K5BHQYDim8
We are delighted that an application for up to 300 new homes in Loxley has today been unanimously refused by Sheffield City Council. We spoke at the planning committee about the lack of detail on impacts to protected species and the Local Wildlife Site. A good result for nature!
Our congratulations to @FriendsLoxley for their superb local campaign - we're proud to have worked with you in helping defeat the Loxley township plans. Bad for the countryside, #greenbelt and the climate! Not to mention @peakdistrict
We're delighted that the highly unsustainable proposal for a new, car-dependent township in the Loxley Valley has been refused by @sheffieldcitycouncil. Having provided @FriendsLoxley we’d like to congratulate them on their campaign, and also thank @SheffCouncil
We're gearing up for today's momentous decision by Sheffield Council's planning committee on the future of the Loxley valley, threatened by 300+ new houses. We're calling for permission to be refused, in line with SCC's views. Wish us luck!
Rest. Recreation. Reflection. The peaceful scene in the heart of the Loxley valley this morning. Let’s hope it stays this way after tomorrow’s critical Planning Committee decision. We’re pleased and relieved that the officer report recommends REFUSAL of the township application.
Our Loxley valley gateway to the @peakdistrict from @theoutdoorcity - autumn trees surround the slumbering old factories; the national park boundary on Damflask behind them. No place for a money-making land grab. We urge councillors to do the right thing today. #NoLoxleyTownship

In 1963 Jean Smart read an advertisement in the Sheffied Star for “someone to help with interesting and varied work with regard to architecture and the countryside”.
In her inimitable way it is a story full of insight, anecdote, and humour. A young woman from ‘the other side’ of Sheffield entering a philanthropic world of Rolls Royce’, Steinway and maid service.
