@AndrewDessler I too do not teach python officially…but I think trying to write the API for a function first is often helpful. What is the input (including data type & shape)? What is the output? Can I write and document a function that will do the task? Do I need to write multiple functions?
@jmlilly Thanks for this! It’s great to have resources to start conversations about the culture of perfectionism in science. I’m realizing that it would help if I had this conversation more explicitly with students
I have a sabbatical in 24-25 coming up and would love to spend time at an insurance/re-insurance shop. if you have any ideas/connections, respond to this or email me at [email protected].

@_david_ho_@_cworthy I like the idea and the logo! Can the square brackets be thinner? I feel like they are making the logo less readable. And could the gif be a tiny bit slower?
@chrispiecuch @TejasKPandya@DalhousieU I’m actually reading a book that talks about this right now! It’s called “Curious minds: the power of connection” and I highly recommend it!
@AstroMikeMerri I understand what you mean. A big-picture story about history of medicine, like you might get in a well-designed lecture series, has value. This is an opportunity for new stories to be told and I am looking forward to that
@AstroMikeMerri They don’t want to exhibit the items as one exhibition anymore because the main connection between the items is that they were collected by one person. That doesn’t mean they won’t show them in the future, just that they will likely be divided and presented differently
