Throwing rocks at, shoving, and harassing Jewish students is not legitimate protest. We shared this video a year ago during the encampment to show what Jewish students were experiencing. Since then, the calls for violence have only grown more explicit.
Congratulations to the @Columbia Antisemitism Task Force Chairs on this very well deserved award. It was an honor to serve on the Task Force under their leadership and along with other amazing colleagues.
Mazel tov to @Columbia ‘s Antisemitism Task Force Chairs Ester Fuchs, Nicholas Lemann, and David Schizer on receiving the Seixas Award at the annual @cbhillel dinner!
This well-deserved recognition reflects 2.5 years of dedicated leadership and tireless work. Deep gratitude to the chairs and to every member of the Task Force (https://t.co/wxJoECnwfI) for their unwavering commitment to confronting antisemitism on campus.
Your efforts make a real difference.

Congrats to the 2026 @Columbia graduates! We are so proud of all of you and can’t wait to see what comes next. These 3 students in particular have emerged as incredible leaders on campus and we know you will continue to do great things.
Mazal tov to our dear colleague Prof. @Rebecca_Kobrin , co-director of the @ColumbiaIIJS , on receiving the 2026 @Columbia Presidential Award for Outstanding Teaching. The award is a well-deserved recognition of her contributions to teaching and mentorship. Congratulations to our other colleagues who also received the award.

We were proud to celebrate our Jewish heritage together at a beautiful event hosted by the @Columbia Jewish Employee Resource Group on Haven Plaza at @ColumbiaMed . Thank you to everyone who came out to celebrate with us, especially the incredible students from @frischschool
We were disheartened that some colleagues chose that moment to protest. The students’ resounding response said it all: Am Yisrael Chai. We joined in their singing to show that we are Jewish, Zionist, and proud, and we’re not going anywhere.
Join us today to celebrate Jewish American Heritage Month on Haven Plaza at @ColumbiaMed ! 12-2 pm. Special thanks to our amazing friends at the @ColumbiaMed Jewish Cultural Employee Resource Group for hosting. We’re looking forward to the performance by the students from @frischschool
Students from several NYC campuses have reportedly engaged in anti-Israel protests marked with deeply troubling rhetoric, including blatant support for the designated terrorist organization Hamas. If true, we hope that the impacted institutions, including but not limited to @Columbia and @CUNY, will clearly and unequivocally condemn this behavior, as they have done throughout this academic year, and take further action to protect their campus communities. #NotOnOurCampus https://t.co/TKgSVjKXx6.
Protestors (students and faculty) at @Columbia chanting "ceasefire now" about Gaza. There's been a ceasefire for 6 months. You'd expect facts from a place of learning, but instead professors are disrupting classes with a megaphone, completely detached from reality.
Statement from @Columbia about today's protest: "The group gathered did not adhere to the pre-notification requirement for demonstrations today. The University ... [engaged] Public Safety to ask for identification of masked individuals."

@JeffreyLax@Columbia Students and faculty reported hearing them in nearby classrooms, which is technically a violation. Today was also a pre-registration day (requiring notification 2 business days in advance). Unclear if they did that or not.
There were at most 50 protestors, many of which were faculty or alumni, like Maryam Alwan, who helped lead the 2024 protestors. Definitely not more than 100 students. Kind of pathetic.
🚨 BREAKING: On the two-year anniversary of Columbia’s Hind’s Hall occupation, Sunrise Movement says more than 100 “students” have taken over the steps of Low Memorial Library.
The footage raises an obvious question. How many protesters are students? A lot look much older.
It is awesome that JTS is getting President @Isaac_Herzog to speak.
@ColumbiaSpec is trying to make it seem controversial. It's not. Only 6 rogue JTS seniors are unhappy.
I am hearing that the vast majority of JTS seniors are excited and honored that he's speaking to them!
HAPPENING NOW: @Columbia protesters are back and protesting on the 2 year anniversary of the Hamilton Hall takeover.
The difference this time? They’re a smaller and even more pathetic group whose only impact is disruptive noise.
