Progress is not inevitable. It requires the hard work and dedication of average citizens to hold their elected officials accountable. RT =\= endorsement
@Santos4Congress @CNN Really trying to out-do Ted Cruz in the contest for who can be the most unlikable person in politics. Absolute loser stuff going on here. Worst kid you knew growing up energy.
This happens in the US literally every single day. The only difference is the financial ruin that comes along with it. Fox News yet again pandering to people who have never left their hometown let alone taken the time to understand Canada's Healthcare system.
Wow, he swore twice! While drinking beer! Such a normal guy! This totally makes up for the fact that Davis did everything in his power to avoid "liberal" CU for his entire tenure and mocking those who wanted less blatantly partisan representation. That half-zip tho! #relatable
On Illinois Democrats: "When they draw more polarized districts, you get a more polarized Congress. ... And the next time @GovPritzker bitches and moans about the lack of bipartisanship in Congress, how was that in the map he signed?" #twill
this is bullshit and it's kind of funny that it didn't garner any pushback. Rodney continually refused to hold any type of event in C-U for years. We all remember. we lived through it. he did his part to create polarization by freezing out a huge part of his electorate. come on.
@shenring0 @tencents77 @Cobratate@GretaThunberg Other people have podcasts that encourage people to do the exact same things minus the misogyny. There's nothing unique about his advice in any way, shape, or form.
Go about your day with the passion the @ChampaignGOP (we're blocked) brings to putting up yard signs in literally any vacant/abandoned lot they can find.
It's 2022 and Republicans on the county board are still martyring themselves on the "I don't see color!" pyre.
Really good stuff. Great to see. Very helpful.
Feels like responding to this with "why should I pay for X thing for Y person" cedes a lot of ground. Why we invest in things like education, and infrastructure, and other public goods (even if we're not directly benefitting from them) is because it's good for society as a whole
It is disqualifying and dangerous to pander to the lunatic fringe of American politics like this. Doubly so when the job you're telling people you're qualified for involves overseeing elections.
Today: The @news_gazette issued a correction for getting the name of the NAACP wrong in its racist joke.
They regret misidentifying the civil rights organization in their racist joke.
The racism in the website version has been made thinly veiled by deleting "no pun intended."
The "biden is only doing this for votes!" argument seems to rely on a hopeless brand of politics where you just settle for repeatedly voting for politicians who do nothing for you
"Wow you mean if you're poor/unemployed you can just go to a food bank and get free food? Where's the free food for those of us who are WORKING?"
This is how some of y'all sound re: student loans. You can be proud of your accomplishments AND extend empathy to others. It's ok.
