We would love to see more of your wildlife encounters and landscape views of the Water Park! We are starting the hashtag #WildWaterPark to showcase what the Cotswold Water Park has to offer! We look forward to seeing everyone’s contributions!
A rare opportunity to see some fantastic birds (and Lloyd and Rose of course) close up. Don't miss out on tickets for this fundraising event hosted by @Lakes_Brew_Co. Especially looking forward to meeting the Starlings... https://t.co/A15EL4RElI #CWPBirds#Birds#Springwatch
First time checking on the new pond in a couple of weeks. Water has receded quite a bit but is holding in the deepest part of the pond. Diving beetles have found it now. Orchids starting to flower nearby, hopefully in time they will spread to the ground surrounding the pond! 🪲🪻
We used some spare digger time to create a new wetland feature on the reserve. This low ground usually collects water during wet periods and so should make a good ephemeral pond. Looking forward to seeing how it develops 💦🐸🌱
Spring migrants arriving in @CotswoldWaterPk with the SW winds - so far today Whimbrel, Grasshopper and Sedge Warblers, and Common Whitethroat all reported #spring#birds#migration .#GlosBirds@WiltsBirdNews
Please continue to send the records to @CWPBirds and they will be forwarded appropriately to the county recorders. If any other species give you pause for consideration then please follow the same approach. 2/2
An excellent summary of the issues surrounding rare breeding birds that almost negates the need for my annual reminder. However, I’ll briefly request that locations are not published for LRP, Bittern, Marsh Harrier, and Nightingale in the @CotswoldWaterPk 1/2
It’s also important to think carefully before sharing sightings (e.g. on social media) of rare breeding birds in the breeding season - could this lead to disturbance, or worse? Read the RBBP guidance here https://t.co/HkIByn8dfg. If in doubt, don’t!
