We are deeply saddened by the passing of former Deputy Director, Barbara McNamara, a pioneering figure at the National Security Agency. In 1994, she became the first woman to lead the Directorate of Operations and later served as Deputy Director from 1997 to 2000, greatly enhancing intelligence cooperation and production. Inducted into the Cryptologic Hall of Honor in 2020, her lasting contributions to the NSA's mission to protect our Nation will forever be remembered. We extend our heartfelt condolences to her family and loved ones.
