New study with Aga Khan University @AKUGlobal shows that many oil-based paints for home-use available on the market in Pakistan contain high levels of lead. As we've found before, it looks like red and yellow pigments are the main source of lead
Our new research with @AKUGlobal has found that 40% of oil-based paints sampled from the market in Pakistan contained dangerous and illegal levels of lead, endangering the health of children.

(1/3) Earlier this year we conducted a paint testing study with the Environment Protection Agency of Sierra Leone @ProtectionLeone (EPA-SL). Results show that 47% of solvent-based paint samples contained dangerously high levels of lead.

What if I told you that roughly $500 for therapy + a little cash helped the most troubled young men in West Africa drop their crime and violence by half. For at least 10 years.
Almost 350 fewer crimes PER PARTICIPANT over 10y.
That's ~$1.50 per crime averted.
