@mikeda71@sf_derek No, I'm saying Lance didn't really get a chance to show he could or couldn't play in that system. That was also before McCaffrey too. Purdy came in and played well and they won with him. No need to change what's working then.
@mikeda71@sf_derek The Trey Lance pick was always about upside, not immediate production. He got hurt in the second game and was out the rest of the season. Shanahan system & that roster made Jimmy G look better than he was. That's why people question Purdy's individual greatness.
@NolaDubose@BBGreatMoments The pitchers are trying to make you miss though. And just hitting the ball is not enough on that 24 percent. You need to hit the ball and get on base safely.
@11Bishop11@mj_rich24@_thehittingMD@pjonesbaseball The argument for having kids play multiple sports isn't so they will become more skilled in 1 sport. It's to make them better overall athletes and reduce overuse injuries while they mature. Those 2 things will allow them to be better at their chosen sport when they specialize.
@IrishJimmy22 @PaulGrasmanis @mar5hallhoops Sitting them for poor performance is totally different than sitting them just out of spite for missing "your" practice to spend time with family. Travel plans are parent choices, not the players.
@CJSells21 @bareynolds10 @mar5hallhoops Why is it different? Kids aren't overruling parents decisions on travel plans anymore than controlling when people pass away. All you're doing is creating tension in the family over an unnecessary rule you're enforcing. For what purpose?
@AZSPORTSNETWORK@CJSells21@mar5hallhoops The kids aren't back in school and New Year's is considered a holiday as well. Christmas is over. The holidays are still going on.
@StacyBehr@mar5hallhoops What if it wasn't a vacation, and it was a funeral out of town for a family member? Do you still have the same "they missed so they sit" mentality? Either scenario has the same amount of choice by the player and involves family over sports.
@Lonewolf_Palmer@McShay13 Almost like that loss doesn't mean anymore than any other loss by the other teams. Especially when the rest of their resume indicates you can't put Bama in over them, and you can't put Georgia in over Bama.
@KevinCa35624658@aggiemike12@_NickKelly That was the sense I was getting but didn't want to accuse anything. Notice the subjective details of an "early" Texas win & Georgia "had" a streak. Alabama had a 21 game home win streak when Texas went to their house and beat them by 10. Bama beat Georgia by 3 on a neutral site.
@Lonewolf_Palmer@McShay13 How do you hold them "responsible"? They are conference champs just like Bama, but they beat them on the road. If Bama gets in, so does Texas. And Georgia can't go in without Bama. Unless you want the SEC & Big 12 champs out of the playoffs?
@aggiemike12@_NickKelly How do you have Georgia over Texas? Bama, Georgia, and Texas all have 1 loss. Bama beat Georgia on a neutral site, and Texas beat Bama in Alabama (best win by that logic too) Also, 2 of them are conference champs. The team that isn't should be out.
