@JoelWBerry Many do, but it depends on the person, there is less emphasis because we don't need to come up with our own theology. Daily mass will have bible readings, and Lectio Divina is a fairly common practice.

@LeoLeo1643486 @lazarusatgate @JamesDueck It’s a bit of a deep subject, but if you follow the logic of Mary being the Ark of the new covenant, the ark is seen in Rev 11, and it moves immediately into the woman in Rev 12. No chapters in original text, so ark and woman likely related. Mary’s body/womb is the ark

@LeoLeo1643486 @lazarusatgate @JamesDueck Bodily assumption is probably the toughest to prove straight from scripture, but can be inferred from several passages, revelation 11-12 to begin with. But Church teaching doesn’t necessarily have to be shown clearly in scripture

Also, the fruits are evident, there is not a clear, singular interpretation of scripture. All Catholic dogmas can be shown from scripture if you believe the Chirch can interpret authoritaily

@rickbrennanjr The only interpretive foundation that is fruitful is humility and prayer. When I was returning to the Catholic Church my constant prayer was to see where I am in error and that I wished to follow truth wherever it leads. It isn’t foolproof but sets the stage properly

@kjfish33 @SwamTheTiber Oriental Orthodox Christianity split from Rome in 451 and has mostly the same doctrines about this stuff, so for you to be right about these, every Christian for over 1000 years had it all wrong…

@yeshuawatchmen1 @AMDG_Derek Can you explain why Jesus gave that specific authority to the apostles then? I believe what Christians and the Church have always believed, but I’m curious how you interpret that part of scripture
