This combined with being super reliant on gas results in high wholesale rates - by European standard we are still very fossil fuel centric. Download electricity maps for some useful info

@kenbone44 That makes sense re serving but unless servicing is mandatory I'd wouldn't like to see a heat pump installed on my boundary beside a window. Neighbour disputes can be a nightmare

@kenbone44 I'm not an expert on heat pumps but don't most fans, compressors etc get noisier with age and even a heat pump that is quiet today potentially a nuisance tomorrow if too close to boundary?

@tomasmcguinness I use a simple rule of thumb. Imbedded energy = cost / Kwh cost for me. So if something cost €100 and energy cost me €0.4 a KwH then I assume there is 250KW of embedded energy
