@AF_Insight 4 and 5 getting absolutely annihilated, not even close. Weak party leadership at state level, no funding machine to back these sorts of initiatives. Embarrassing night.
@GregAbbott_TX@tylerbowyer Since when is Burrows a statewide candidate? It’s my fervent hope that his traitorous ass gets relegated to the back row of the House during the next session, while a true patriot takes the gavel.
@JohnDoyle Endorsement definitely came too late, zero capture of early vote. Meanwhile, Jackson flooding airwaves - deceptive or not. Could’ve been mitigated weeks prior. Not great, but at least they got Collins.
Had a conversation about this topic with a boomer recently. They are stuck in mid-20th century mindset that any “curtailing” of who can vote begins path toward tyranny - of the scary dictator type, leading to the erosion of representative government.
I proposed that we’re already seeing the results of tyranny when a one party city, county, or state can manipulate the outcomes against the will of the legitimate stakeholders as you described in the clip. Those who are engaged on a civic level, will be most impacted by the results, those that pay taxes, run the businesses, raise the families, etc.
When the vast majority of society doesn’t understand how anything works on a political, governmental, economic, or logistical level - the vast majority should not be tasked with determining who should be managing these key aspects of a functioning society. And that’s being generous with respect to some of the abominable election processes in some areas even being about “voting” at all.
The more interesting conversation is what does a functional democracy actually look like given all these changes over the past century. Would be an interesting long-form topic.
@scNme43@9mmsmg I’m not saying I’m a huge fan of the guy or that there aren’t better alternatives. Answering the question as to why he’s continued for receive Trump’s support over the years.
This is all true, and seemingly tees up GOP victories in most, if not all. But if so, why are we all holding our breath in anticipation of fumble after fumble in these races? Historical national GOP leadership’s execution has left us mentally scarred. Hoping guys like James Blair help buck the trend.
He’s a streamer and this gets clicks/reactions. But there’s also the reality that plenty of “right wing” personalities are spiritually bankrupt, have no relationship with God. It’s obviously one opinion among many - as some of your commenters have pointed out already, one doesn’t (and shouldn’t) agree with everything a talking head says… but when someone’s opinions on foundational subjects like sacredness of life, family, etc are way off base, it does make one question what underlies a lot of their worldview.
@captive_dreamer@ColumbiaBugle But what an opportunity to stir up blackpilling emotions and engagement for a few days! So few voices of reason these days.
@AndrewKolvet Incredibly rich commentary. 2:25 and beyond is describing the exact tactics used in innumerable lawsuits/charges against Trump, those involved with J6, unjust sacrifices to the woke mob like Derek Chauvin, COVID persecutions, and so much more. Maximum projection and gaslighting.
No and maybe (perhaps even positive consequences). But I don’t view the world through a lens that turns every “Pentagon pizza tracker” alert or drone strike into the next War on Terror. And I trust the current group in charge to advance our interests judiciously until proven otherwise.
