Data from the #CopernicusClimate Change Service also show that global average SSTs reached the highest value in the #C3S #ERA5 dataset on 31 July.

@teyacossins @lindenashcroft Looks like lenticular clouds! They form downwind of a hill or mountain as air has to be forced up higher to go over the hill. The air then oscillates up and down on the other side forming clouds at the peak of the wave as the water in the air gets cold and condenses

Woke up to a river outside my house. This is the Maribyrnong at a moderate flood level. Everyone on the street is safe and dry but slightly shocked at how quickly the street can flood #vicfloods

Masters thesis complete and submitted! Turns out Black Summer fires emitted heaps of carbon. Thanks to everyone who helped me through the process. I am now looking forward to getting my 2020 gap year plans in!

@MelanieZeppel An interesting metric. My estimate ended up being around the same as Australia's yearly fossil fuel emissions which is ~100 TgC of CO2 or if I have read correctly, 368000 Sydney Harbours of CO2
