@ImCollegeSoccer She is a recruit that has:
Soccer IQ=avg DIII player,
Tech skills=avg DII player,
but she is 5' 9" w/ above average speed.
Then she absolutely will be recruited by multiple DI programs.π―%
@_ToddBeane@coachhockley NASL Shootouts!
From the 35 yard "off-sides" line, the attacker had 5 seconds to get off a shot as he went 1v1 with the keeper.
To be fair, it was an entertaining way to decide a match that was tied in regulation!π
Parents and Recruits,
Casual recruits are no longer a thing. It's either decide you're not playing college soccer, or spend every ounce of energy you have into making this happen.
There's no longer an "in-between."

@_ToddBeane This might be one of the best encouragements you could have given to all the youth coaches out there! They get frustrated with their team's play and then launch verbal hand grenades that cause quite a bit of destruction to the psyche and joy of their players. Words have power.
@_ToddBeane πππ This is so true.
The phrase often yelled in these parts is, "Boot it!"
Players have to try and focus on their internal dialogue whilst trying to tune out what their parents are yelling out on the touchline. Add another layer of difficulty if they have a puppeteer coach.
@jonerfootball Respectfully disagree. Many possibilities and thus decisions when playing 4v4, 5v5. All of these decisions encourage and promote scanning, use of the π and π§ to solve problems. 1v1's rely too heavily on just π¦ΆπΌ/πͺπΌ to solve problems.
It isn't a matter of IF, but WHEN. There will be times where you struggle on the β½ pitch and in life. So in times of trouble, focus on the One who loves you at your worst, and keep your hope in Him. He will love, guide, and hold you through life's hard times.
John 14:1. βοΈπ
@_ToddBeane That was by design. We knew exactly which side would be more impaired if we could create problems for players who rely heavily on their ποΈ to make decisions. Get with the program, Todd. ππ
@Softtop_67 An absolute truth is that for many colleges (especially those not looking to be a Top 20 program), filling the position with the most qualified candidate is not the first box that needs to be checked by the AD. Cultural correctness is the top βοΈ
@ImCollegeSoccer 2. They were building a team culture where players were highly valued as people. They emphasized the importance of honor, integrity, compassion for others.
But in the end, the AD wanted more W's. Not solid culture, not character development. Not caring 4 players. Just W's
@ImCollegeSoccer 1. This post is not useful for instructing coaches on what to do. It does show coaches how to "follow the crowd", as a good number of recently winning programs now employ those tactics.
Meanwhile, an SEC coach was fired at the '25 season's end! Why?!
Sole reason...not enough Ws
@ImCollegeSoccer So coaches, please understand that you have to have "thick skin", or you can not last in this occupation. The criticism of fans will always be there when the team struggles. The higher the level of soccer, the more criticism. Learn how to let it go, or it could kill your career.
@_ToddBeane@FCBarcelona I admit that my memory lacks accuracy at times, but going back to the days of Pujols, Pique, Mascherano, etc., FCB's football was FULL of magic and beauty, yet the backline was more sound, less vulnerable to the counter. Or it's me just romanticizing the past.
