“Charlie, right now, is in heaven. Not because he was a great husband & father…. Not because he sacrificed himself for his Savior. Charlie Kirk is in heaven, because his Savior sacrificed himself for Charlie Kirk” 🔥
- Apologist/Mentor Dr. Frank Turek
The reason this moment is so important and I’m pushing it everywhere isn’t just about Charlie and Erika.
This IS the Gospel. If Erika can forgive Tyler Robinson, you can know with certainty Jesus will forgive you — and once you accept Him, you can forgive yourself.
No matter what you’ve done, no matter how shameful your past (mine is UGLY), the blood of Jesus covers you in grace. When you realize this, everything changes. You can become a new creation, I PROMISE. I’ve lived it.
Many are stating that preaching Christ and acknowledging Charlie’s death are not mutually exclusive, to which I agree.
However, stating that not mentioning Charlie is grounds for finding a new church is reckless and irresponsible.
I don’t think it matters if your pastor DIDN’T mention Charlie Kirk yesterday.
The bigger question is if they preached the GOSPEL.
That matters much more than the news.
I never really understood how martyrdom played a significant role in spreading the Gospel.
But after last week, I get it.
When someone so confident in their faith, confident in the hope of Jesus, gets attacked and k*lled for their faith, 1 of 2 things happen:
1 - people who don't believe yet start feeling a call in their souls to look for a deeper hope. Because they see the evil in the world and they're looking for answers.
2 - Christians see that life is fragile, and the WORST thing that can happen to a person is death. What lies on the other side? Eternal glory.
And if we're true, Bible believing Christians, we need to love others enough to share the Gospel with them.
Christ's call is the same for all those who believe in Him. Take up your cross and follow me.
As devastating and paralysing as this assassination was, its effects are incredible.
I'm forever changed.
When Erika spoke it was clear she was carried by the Holy Spirit.
Listening to her was a true testament to the power of faith and the light of Jesus Christ.
It was the most touching and humbling thing I have heard in a very long time.
Her voice carried a weight beyond this world, as if God’s truth was flowing through her. The strength, wisdom, and courage she showed could only come from an unshakable faith in the Lord.
Her words reminded us of the promise in 2 Corinthians 5:8 that to be away from the body is to be at home with the Lord, and of Romans 8:38–39 which tells us that nothing can separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus.
Her testimony also reflected Philippians 4:13, I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
Through her faith we are reminded that even in grief, God is present, His promises are true, and His kingdom cannot be shaken.
And it is there, in that kingdom, where Charlie now rests in eternal glory.
I hope this is a call to all those who do not yet know the character of Christ to seek Him, to know Him, and to understand the unshakable hope and peace that only He gives.
Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid. - John 14:27
