Finally achieved UX Master certification 🚀🚀🚀
It’s been a fantastic learning journey starting with #usability all those years ago and now ending on #strategy and #designops
Thank you so much to the wonderful @NNgroup and @McCannMcr for supporting me 🙏

@VodafoneUK Done this but now your upsell chatbot has randomly interjected in the thread and I’m unsure if our conversation is still going. Terrible CX and now terrible UX
.@VodafoneUK how do I register a complaint? 20yr+ customer. Ordered phone upgrade for C&C. You emailed to say it’s in. Drove 1 hour round trip. Phone out of stock. Can’t tell me when restocked. Cancelling takes 72 hrs so can’t buy a new phone yet you’ve hit me with credit check🤬
@andybudd We’ve lost IA, usability engineering, and interaction design as skills - it’s all surface design in drawing applications these days. Designers used to fight for time with users, whereas today that’s someone else’s job. Most ‘user’ interface/experience designers have never met one
@sarahdoody Shows a lack of UX strategy and definition of the experience attributes / brand tenets you want to land.
I.e. there are more emotional outcomes other than ‘delight’ to aim for and delight isn’t always appropriate for the product/service/context.
@sarahdoody It’s all tools, processes and surface design… I rarely hear anyone talk about meeting with, talking to, and directly observing users… it’s all Figma, Design Systems, Hotjar, and at best, unmoderated testing. Folks talk about users, but they don’t seem to talk with them.
@tinch@figma Single ‘artboard’ demo I made in @axurerp 6 years ago(!) Figma rocks for surface design, but we’re still lacking an all-rounder with high functional fidelity capabilites
@danjdavies I wonder if things feel a bit more holistic in a design tool in the sense that you’re not focussed on engineering one component at a time across BPs but instead a single page at one BP 🤷🏻♂️
@joenatoli I wonder if that makes the case for folks to think about panels (if budget/project appropriate) so you can call on participants quick 🤔 I also try to get folks to think where their users might be - eg. when testing a train operators site we just rocked up at a train station 🤷🏻♂️
