With profound sorrow, we mourn the passing of #PopeFrancis, a shepherd to millions and a beacon of faith and compassion. His death leaves an immeasurable void in the Church and the world. https://t.co/AbpcRXnFBf
An excellent video with two of our Country Representatives, Haydee Diaz and Daniel Mumuni, discussing the importance of #localization. This is part of the #DevexSeries on local leadership, #RootsofChange.
International NGOs have an important role to play in supporting smaller, local partners to take their rightful place at the table, say Catholic Relief Services’ Daniel Mumuni and Haydee Diaz.

We know that #localization is key to reshaping and modernizing aid, but there are some myths we need to dispel. Please take a moment to read a @Devex#oped that three of our partners and I wrote about this important topic. https://t.co/Ih6u8mipF8 #RootsofChange
.@ChrisVanHollen, thanks for our meeting today to discuss the urgent humanitarian needs in #Gaza. I appreciate that you took the time to visit the region yourself and have called for safe and unhindered delivery of humanitarian assistance to relieve the intense suffering.
Despite the challenges and the difficult context, the CRS team is providing assistance to the most vulnerable in a verifiable, controlled, and systematic manner. Here are my reflections from the trip. https://t.co/oLHlgBwv1M
I'm just back from #Gaza and other Middle East locations and saw with my own eyes that our team is courageously responding to unbelievable needs. I've briefed @ChrisCoons and @SenatorCardin on the humanitarian needs and CRS' response. I appreciate their interest and leadership.
As Catholic leaders with first-hand knowledge of the situation, the delegates bring an important and needed voice to Washington, DC to draw attention to the growing violence. #PeaceInSahel
It was an honor this morning to meet with a delegation of Catholic leaders from Côte d'Ivoire in the CRS office as they begin a week in Washington, DC to meet with decision-makers about the situation of violence in the central Sahel region. #PeaceInSahel

#Cyclone#Mocha is expected to make landfall on #Bangladesh & #Myanmar tomorrow, bringing heavy winds & rain. The world's largest refugee settlement, home to about 940K people, sits in the storm's path. If projections hold, this will be the strongest storm in the area since 2010.
Madagascar is right in the path of #CycloneFreddy, which has the equivalent strength of a Category 4 major hurricane. Our team in #Madagascar is preparing for a direct hit by moving supplies into position to respond quickly to immediate needs.
#CSMG23 friends, I'm so looking forward to this annual gathering of amazing, thoughtful, committed, passionate Catholics, and I'm glad to be part of the conversation during the plenary panel on Monday, Jan 30th. I'll see you there! @WeAreSaltLight#OnePlanetOneFamily
We are deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Pope Benedict XVI and join Catholics around the world in mourning this great loss. Our hope is that his spirit of solidarity and steadfast faith lives on in the hearts and minds of Catholics everywhere.
I echo @OkeefeCRS' words: there’s much to applaud in the federal spending bill, and American leadership is paramount if we are going to protect and save lives. There's more work to be done.
