Ive been compiling thoughts for a long time on a very oddly specific subject, and I think Ill put them all together here.
Here it goes; the movie #Moneyball is a phenomenal analogy for the American Church and its leadership issues particularly in finding vocational pastors.
This being posted ad nauseam as the reason why people dont watch soccer is hilarious. It was reviewed, overturned, and the player who flopped was carded. They are literally fixing it.
The commentary on this has been absolutely disgusting.
In the end, these peole killed someone because that person's presence in their life would be an inconvenience.
Let us never believe that type of decision is a good and moral one.
What if I told you, that in a capitalistic society, everything is designed to be covered in slop and thrown in the trash?
Literally one of the driving factors in our economy is you can just buy another *insert anything here* and throw out the old.
Christianity is so funny bc any religion that takes itself seriously would find it insulting to put the Word of God on a piece of cardboard meant to be covered in slop and thrown in the trash
Legendary former Alabama football coach Nick Saban issues a stark warning on the devastating trajectory of college sports under current NIL rules.
"It's become an arms race, who spends the most has got the best chance to win.”
“But I think it's a race to the bottom because if you don't spend to win, you lose your fan base and you don't have any revenue."
They should have started with the speech Luke gave to Kylo at the end. It was the greatest part of the story and showed the hope that Luke always possessed.
Then he could have trained Rey and generally avoided all the horrendous retconning that happened throughout.
I'm on 14 and still spend a ton of time playing video games, watching TV and generally scrolling on my phone.
I don't know that I could hit 70 so far this year, but its definitely not unfathomable.
I mean, yeah. Usually it means I’m neglecting Netflix or Hulu 😂 .
I’ve read 70 books so far this year. I’m aiming for 200.
This also not a crazy goal. It’s literally just cutting screen time.
He claims to know all about who should be fighting for titles, when they should fight, how long it should take for an injury to heal, etc, but if he signs you, somehow its your fault if you're not up to snuff?
Pick a lane man. Are you an MMA savant or not?
🚨 Dana White reacts to the WNBA now having a higher minimum salary ($270,000) than the UFC and gets pressed about fighter pay in an interview with Rolling Stone:
🗣️ The WNBA agreed to a new salary minimum of around $270,000 a year, which is reportedly more than a journeyman MMA fighter earns. Do you ever see a future where a UFC fighter can immediately make a living wage?
Dana White: “Fighter pay has gone up every year, and it will continue to go up as long as we continue to be successful. But to compare it to the WNBA, that’s ridiculous.”
“First of all, if you come into the UFC, let’s say you sign a three-fight deal, we’re going to find out if you even belong in the UFC. I should pay you $370,000 to see if you belong in the UFC?”
"The Bible is silent on abortion." Is the same type of cop-out as "Jesus never talks about homosexuality."
Sure, those exact terms are never used as an original language equivalent, but marriage, value of life, sex, parenthood, etc are all mentioned in multiple places.
James Talarico on abortion: “I trust Texas women to make decisions about their own bodies, to shape their own destinies. I don’t believe that’s a place for government. That’s a belief I hold not despite my faith, but because of my faith. Jesus never talks about abortion. The Bible is silent on abortion”
"How did we get here?"
The people lecturing middle class America made their fortune on the backs of the people they are now calling lazy.
Its easier to get rich when you view people as expendable and unworthy. When you actually care about others, it becomes more difficult.
The way the internet has responded to this is so wild to me
Turns out there’s a whole generation that doesn’t believe they can ever succeed in life so they just YOLO their money on stupid shit like DoorDash
Meanwhile I’m making 10x what they are and I’m making lunch and meals and NOT doing DoorDash
Sacrifice is literally how I saved $200K to be able to get a home
It took me over a decade to do that
Entitlement and lack of delayed gratification is destroying a whole generation
How did we get here?
@indexnforgetit Not at all. But inflation works all the way up and down the spectrum here.
Its always been cheaper to eat at home, the issue is how much it costs to eat out now. If price of a meal out has jumped 70%, but inflation is only 7%, resturaunts are simply being greedy.
I can’t believe the Coen Brothers had the nerve to set THE ODYSSEY in the American south in the 1930s!! They’re pissing on Homer’s grave!! I hope the government of Greece has them drawn and quartered!
