@Reading106 Exactly, the gift is courtesy of Heineken so we are either that little thought of or you would have thought Reading would have paid to upgrade it to a Saturday/Sunday if they agreed on this prize
@Nozzzaaaa@ramy_abousetta Weren’t we prepared to pay closer to a million in January so what has changed 🤷♂️ I appreciate we have a club but honestly the sooner they go the better, literally dragging this club down
@CScott____ @mrblthomas Both teams bought players in Jan which have made a difference, the likes of Sidibeh, Barry, Olaofe, CBT, Rodrigues, Apter on top of what they had.
Ours were last resort (Young) or absolute crap (Keane)
@Oscar_rfc1871@GlynBull Don’t mind it and agree on the lb comments.
It’s a long season so good to have 3 decent cbs.
POC lacks pace though so would be beneficial to supplement that in the rb position to cover him and improve a team weakness to compliment his strengths
@richiec87@Simps100@insandouts25 I understand what you’re saying and don’t disagree. My point really was if funds are limited then spend wisely rather than waste it
@richiec87@Simps100@insandouts25 Loans should also be better quality than you have otherwise it’s better to develop your own.
On the whole last season our loan signings were poor
@richiec87@Simps100@insandouts25 LR finally says something I agree with in most circumstances. And if they are younger you have to pay compensation so they aren’t ‘free’.
Rob is talking about older statesmen like what Wycombe were built upon which for me is totally the wrong approach
@Simps100@richiec87@insandouts25 Agreed and people are going for the football not the fireworks.
If money is limited is just about being sensible with how we spend it and the right priorities
The PA system is crap but do you need to update it to hear the subs not really. Unless you plan on concerts etc
@Simps100@insandouts25 Safe standing seems pointless as people stand anyway so feels a tick box exercise.
The others it depends if they are spending for returns. I.e you need to update the PA system for concerts if they are planning other revenue. If not then it’s pointless and again wrong priorities
@Simps100@insandouts25 Valid but the firework spend just shows how badly the priorities are.
Any owner who know the club is bigger than league 1 revenue so would have to take losses until we return to the championship. He just doesn’t have the pockets we require and priorities seem all wrong
@Simps100@insandouts25 I thought he said £2/3k.
I agree, need to find ways to ultise and absorb those costs but we shouldn’t accept this as our level and should be pushing to get back to the championship as we were relegated on a points deduction and now moved on
@Simps100@insandouts25 If we are leaving the team stretched then that’s an issue but sometimes you have too many people or cutting back there may allow you to invest more in recruitment and offset it.
I agree though, and fireworks costs would have likely paid one of those salaries
@RFCLatest@James_BFP Not against it as I would like to see an overhaul of our wingers but this is the most predictable signing since he announced he was leaving. Free transfer, ex Wycombe, almost a certainty
@RFCLatest This is all wrong, should be alongside but the manager has ultimate say.
Sack the manager and then you have to fully recycle for the next rather than players match the style you want to play
@Simps100@richiec87@RfcNatho@Reading106@lukeroyal1871@ReadingFC@ElmParkRoyals Fair point we will never know, but Rob restricted other buyers too whether that was for better or worse.
I agree on the improvements but reserve judgment until they are complete as the new sound system is worse than before.
Agree on the pitch is most vital. Manger as well!
