@GWRHelp Trainline knew the Paddington to Frome train would terminate at Westbury 20 minutes before announced by the train crew. Why? Telling passengers at Westbury that the train wouldn’t be going any further is really unhelpful, especially if you could have given 20mins warning
@pgnx@British_Airways Yep, it was a horrendous flight. Very little from @British_Airways though - no checking in on customers, poor communication and earliest alternative flight was a four day delay
@British_Airways what is happening with BA12 (Sing-LDN)? Difficult circumstances on board, but now back at Changi and not a lot of clarity on next steps
@British_Airways@British_Airways - the hotel you have put me up in are saying I have to pay for my taxi back the airport because I’ve found an alternative flight. I’m only in the hotel because of a BA issue and because your flight alternative was the 19th (😡). I think you should cover this?
I don't know how we will reverse biodiversity decline in the UK.
But I can tell you two things that won't help.
Denying the problem.
Shouting ay land managers on social media.
@angelaisfranc Looks like UK population has risen by 10m/17.5% since 1990, so to get to 1990 total levels, so we’d need more than getting to 1990 pp levels right? Not sure what year the pp levels would have to aim at to get to total 1990 with the additional people 🤷♂️ hopefully in living memory!
@theladyfarmer@Rosewood_Farm Talk to local FWAG - got 4 fully neglected ponds redone at Wimpole, all paid for by FWAG via biodiversity net gain money. Can’t remember main contact - think Elizabeth (@LinesMartin may know more)
Great myth-busting thread on the link between ruminants and climate change.
*PREVIEW* - it covers GWP* and highlights the positive role ruminants can play.
Worth a read! Nice work @Rob_Percival_ 👏
There's a myth doing the rounds that livestock don't really contribute globally to the climate crisis (at least not to a meaningful degree) and that discussion of agricultural emissions is a ploy to distract from fossil fuels. Here's why that's dangerous nonsense - 🧵
@farmerama__@RedwoodsFm@wickedleeksmag Had some @RedwoodsFm chicken and pork just this week - bought it from Frome market on the weekend. Both were 💯 🤤 🔥 + being wonderfully sustainable and soy free. Looking forward to hearing more about the farm on the pod!

@herdyshepherd1 @jell_1982 @nationaltrust@Natures_Voice Getting info out there to the farm-level is a fair challenge, but we do try.
Guides in Farmers Weekly, speaking at Royal Welsh/Highland, supporting orgs like @oxfordfarming@RealFarmED and @FarmingReal all happened in 2022.
But we want to be better. Welcome thoughts on that?
@herdyshepherd1@LinesMartin Vacuous empty (and lazy) rhetoric to say eNGOs have done nothing on nature. It was the eNGOs who developed and funded the programme!
If you want to do something on nature, getting millions of people behind you with an election coming up is a pretty good place to start.
@herdyshepherd1 @jell_1982 @nationaltrust@Natures_Voice And the TV series -that gets the public support for the funding we need.
In this ag/environment nexus, we know this is important, but we exist in a bubble.
Wild Isles brings it to life for millions of people - that brings the votes, which brings the policies and the funding.
@herdyshepherd1 @jell_1982 @nationaltrust@Natures_Voice eNGOs have been the most vocal in calling for clarity and funding to support the transition in agriculture we need. But it can't be money for old rope - things need to change. It is others who are the barrier to that change.
