With the catholic excommunication of the SSPX. There are now officially more Latin/Gregorian Mass Orthodox Churches than catholic ones. What a time to be alive.
@SteveSkojec I'm not sure what all you said, but Steve man, if you are ever in St. Louis and are interested, let me know. We could grab a drink or something.
@HilarityjaneArt@SteveSkojec Where then does that leave one in terms of the institution church? We can say we were deprived of what was at least to a better degree kept alive in the East, but where does one plant their flag then so to speak? EO?
I really need help.
This year, we had to move into the only property we own - a very old and run down house outside of town. We had to take a big loan to fix all the problems the house had.
Right now, my husband's earnings cannot cover both the loan and everything else we need (food, utilities etc.). I need to get a job for us to be able to survive.
I've been a stay-at-home mum for quite some time now and I don't want to send my kids to the daycare. This is why I'm looking for a remote job that would allow me to still stay home.
Anyone have any opportunities for me?
I have master's degrees in the fields of English language and literature as well as German language and literature. I speak 3 languages (including Croatian). I have experience with translating and writing all sorts of texts, SEO optimization, tutoring, editing. I'm an extremely fast learner and very eager to do everything I do well.
I don't really know how to sell myself and my skills. I hope that Divine Providence will do it for me.
To wrap this up, if anyone is offering a remote job, or knows someone who could help me get one, I would be most grateful to you.
Above all else, I desire prayers. Please spare one for me and I'll pray for you too.
God bless you all 🙏
I cannot express how much I dislike the St. Michael Prayer after Mass. it is so, so jarring to me every time.
To say nothing of the intent/content of the prayer, the language, and repetition and prominence given to it breed a sense of paranoia and cynicism. Instead of going out to evangelize the world, everyone is ready to go to war with it.
This prayer is totally fine in private devotion. It does not belong in the liturgy (or effectively within the liturgy, when it is said after the final blessing but before the recessional hymn)
I want to hope in God, but it feels like I lost Him. I hate losing hope. I'm not sure I'll survive this season of health issues. Please pray for my wife and 3 year old that I might be leaving behind if I don't make it. May God lead you all to truth, joy, and peace.
@kalezelden Look up St Francis de Sales Oratory. It has the second longest main aisle in the entire Metro region, behind only the Cathedral Basilica, and yet most Sundays it's at or near standing room only. And it's not the only TLM in the area.
