90% of schools face cuts next year.
That's why I just signed the @SchoolCuts Open Letter asking @RishiSunak to Stop School Cuts.

🎄 *XMAS BOOK GIVEAWAY* 🎄
I’m giving away three pairs of ‘Closing the Reading Gap’ & ‘Closing the Vocabulary Gap’ for Xmas.
Simply RETWEET to have a chance of picking up a pair of signed books.
(Draw on Monday 20th December)
@missfre_247016 As part of a group with the other ECTS and mentors, yes, but honestly the tone was much more "tell me what's good about this school" than an interrogation :)
@missfre_247016 I was in exactly the same position a couple of weeks ago, deep dived and all! Honestly, once the momentum is up it's fine, the Monday before they came was the most stressful part of the experience and you've nearly done that! Do as you normally do, don't exhaust yourself!
📚 FREE BOOKS 📚
That’s it.
That’s the tweet.
To enter, just retweet this post and tag a friend in the comments who might like £50 of brand new CPD reading.

Finally taken control of a small part of my teaching world by relabelling the drawers in my classroom, after telling a child today the immortal line
"yes, you may borrow a ruler, they're in the drawer marked tracing paper."
The scope for "*insert name here* has been doing that for years!" jokes based on this only increases when you read that it involves "brainless slime moulds."
If you work in maths education this diagram is well worth some reflection. Is this really what we want to see happen post-16?

Maths teachers are the best! No fewer than 137 websites, tools & blogs, now all on one page! (Will still triple check all links & may re-order/regroup again.) Thank you so much to everyone who shares resources (& please tell me any omissions or errors) https://t.co/534Ih5N8Cf
@MissHSmusic@MrTs_NQTs When I was at school the ABRSM music theory grades were taught as an after school thing, I paid for the books and the exams, could be a good place to start if they're willing?
Last day on placement 2 today has been a tad overwhelming to say the least! One of my y10 students has apparently loved the constant Dungeons & Dragons references in my probability lessons, he's written an original problem and given it to me! 😁

If students in two different schools say the same thing unprompted, it must be true, right?
In which case, it's official that I look like Johnny Depp. Specifically, Jack Sparrow. Still happy to take that 😂
Ran PSHE with my Y9 form today, they had to give advice to "Charlie," who's 15 & being pressured by friends to start having sex. I was apprehensive about the responses I'd get, & was floored when the first response was "tell him to get better friends."
