There is a lot of talk on this platform on how to improve the sport of horse racing, breeding. And yet, nothing ever changes.
Its evident that we have lost our way and the only way to find it is to go back to the beginning.
Here's a blog I wrote in 2017 that gives some perspective on that topic - Man Lost, Equus lost: Adam, The First Natural Horseman:
Try to imagine a world where you had everything needed for survival, for peace of mind and good health; a world free from war, pain and suffering, free from disease and death – a world with no crying and tears. That’s the world, garden of Adam, the first natural horseman, the first man made in the image of God (Genesis 1:26-27).
That world is also the world of the first Horse and in Genesis 2:18-20 we see that the Horse was created to be a partner with Adam:
18The Lord God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him.”
19Now the Lord God had formed out of the ground all the wild animals and all the birds in the sky. He brought them to the man to see what he would name them; and whatever the man called each living creature, that was its name. 20So the man gave names to all the livestock, the birds in the sky and all the wild animals.
Not only was the Horse created to be a partner with Adam but the scriptures imply that Adam was probably intimately aware of God’s plan for the Horse because he was given the duty of naming all living creatures. A name is used to define character and in order for Adam to assign names to all God’s creations he would need to know their character and the purpose for which they were created.
Indeed, Adam was the original natural horseman.
He was especially qualified and equipped by God to nurture and care for the Horse who was created to be his partner. Before Adam’s sin with Eve and fall from God’s grace in the Garden of Eden, Adam honored God and held all God’s creation in high esteem.
For us, today, a full understanding of Adam’s idyllic world is beyond imagining. To some, that world is beyond belief. But, if you pause and take time to let your mind’s eye focus on that world you might be able to glimpse it.
One day while studying the writing of the ancient historian Josephus, I found an interesting anecdote that amplified the partnership that Adam had with the Horse. In his epic work, Antiquities of the Jews, Josephus notes:
But while all living creatures had one language, at that time the serpent, which then lived together with Adam and his wife, shewed an envious disposition, at his supposal of their living happily and in obedience to the commands of God;
WOW!
Just imagine. If Josephus is correct in that “all living creatures had one language” then the implication is that Adam could talk to the Horse and the Horse could talk to Adam in the same language. Although the scriptures do not state that, it makes sense that God who is all knowing would know that in order for the Horse to be a partner with Adam, they would need to be able to communicate with each other.
The revelation of that possibility grabbed me, and shook me. If Josephus is correct, his claim that “all living creatures had one language” highlights how much we have lost in our bond with the Horse and all God’s good creation.
Indeed, when looking at the world of the sport horse and Thoroughbred, one is hard pressed to find a relationship where Man and Horse make equal contributions to the partnership. On the contrary, there are a whole host of programs and methods for breeding, training and caring for Equine athletes that are designed to fit the Horse into the mold, model that Man thinks most successful.
What about what God thinks most successful?
Whether or not the Horse could talk to Adam, the scripture is clear that Adam shared a unique and close relationship with God and His creation.
After Adam’s fall from God’s grace, not only did he lose his original bond with the Horse where the two lived in perfect harmony with each other, but Josephus continues in his writing of Adam’s son, Cain, to give us a glimpse of Man’s fall and just how much we also have lost in our bond with each other:
However he [Cain] did not accept of his punishment in order to amendment, but to increase his wickedness; for he only aimed to procure everything that was for his own bodily pleasure, though it obliged him to be injurious to his neighbours. He augmented his household substance with much wealth, by rapine and violence; he excited his acquaintance to procure pleasure and spoils by robbery, and became a great leader of men into wicked courses. He also introduced a change in that way of simplicity wherein men lived before, and …he changed the world into cunning craftiness. …
Nay, even while Adam was alive, it came to pass that the posterity of Cain became exceeding wicked, every one successively dying, one after another, more wicked than the former. They were intolerable in war, and vehement in robberies; and if anyone were slow to murder people, yet was he bold in his profligate behaviour, in acting unjustly, and doing injuries for gain.
The crooked ways of Cain seem all too familiar and when we look at our world today, we see that not much has changed since the time of Adam. Indeed, since then, Man has been abusing, enslaving, murdering and stealing from God’s creation all for selfish gain and power.
However, God who is all loving and merciful was not going to leave us, His good creation (Genesis 1:31) in our wretched state without hope. He sent his son, Jesus Christ, (Isaiah 59:16, Matthew 3:17) to redeem Man from his sinful nature and restore him back to God (2 Corinthians 5:14-21). Through that restoration, Man is made new in the image of Jesus Christ and he learns how to love and honor God. The new Man no longer follows the way of Adam and Cain who dishonored God and abused His creation. Instead, the new Man follows the way of Jesus who shows us how to hold all of God’s creation in high esteem (Ephesians 4:17-32, Colossians 3:1-17).
Jesus Christ is the Narrow Gate (Matthew 7:13-14), the Sheep Gate (John 10:7-9) and only when we follow Jesus can we truly hold all God’s creation in high esteem. Jesus shows us how to love God with all our heart, mind, soul and strength and how to love our neighbor (Matthew 22:36-40). Jesus shows us how to love one another (John 15:9-17) and how to forgive those who have done us wrong (Matthew 5:38-48).
When Man finally learns how to go through the Narrow Gate and follow Jesus Christ, who shows us how to surrender our selfish desires and embrace God’s Holy Spirit, who leads and guides us in God’s path of righteousness (John 14:25-26), then once more, Man might be able to reclaim that intimate bond that Adam and the Horse shared so long ago and “Hold the Horse and Man, all God’s creation in High Esteem.”
I hope that this blog I wrote in 2017 has blessed you and inspires you to "Hold the Horse and Man, all God's creation in High Esteem."
Trump's election bombshell is only half the story.
While Trump exposed the election cover-up, Rubio & Bessent revealed the Empire's other lever: killing the builders who threaten it. As @sjkokinda explains, they want to either "rig the ballot, or remove the builder."
@CalvinLCarter@paulsperry_@realDonaldTrump I agree, but would not hold my breath. Strong action against China would also indicate the seriousness of this, but President Trump is always talking about what a great friend President Xi is.
@michaleen@paulsperry_ Considering the blackout, going forward if the speech is going to have any long-term impact, there will need to be some arrests. @realDonaldTrump
@CalvinLCarter@paulsperry_ Fox was not comfortable with this speech. Verbal disclaimers, C-level talent on the coverage, token mention from Hannity coming out of the speech and nothing on F&F. Whether they're right or not, Fox does not think this helped the President.
BREAKING: Despite the president breaking stunning news of a massive Beijing hack of US voter data and a massive cover-up of its election interference by the FBI and CIA, CNN, ABC and NBC blacked out his prime-time address, and CBS and MSNBC cut away from it. Only NewsNation, Fox and C-Span covered it in full. Trump accused NBC, CNN and ABC of being "part of a plot to help keep this [election] fraud going" and called for the FCC to revoke NBC's and ABC's broadcasting licenses.
🚨The Left has FAILED to cancel Sylvester Stallone so badly that the trailer for the new “I PLAY ROCKY” movie has amassed TENS OF MILLIONS of views across social media.
This is legendary. Sylvester Stallone is an American icon.
God bless him.
I want to ask the students screaming “Death to America”, do you have any idea what happens when American values die?
Because I do.
My family fled Iran, a country where freedom died. You don’t know what you have until it’s gone.
You think America is oppressive because you have never experienced real oppression.
You think silence is violence because you’ve never been silenced.
You think words are dangerous because you have never watched a government drag someone away for speaking them.
You think capitalism is evil because you have never stood in a bread line.
You think borders are immoral because you have never had to flee across one.
You think revolution is romantic because you have never had a revolution take everything from you.
I have.
And that’s why I refuse to be quiet.
This is one of the most important moments ever aired on CNBC.
Billionaire investor Chamath Palihapitiya says the media lied to millions of Americans about President Trump, and that after going back to the original source material, he realized he had been completely misled about Trump’s character.
PALIHAPITIYA: “The reality is that most of us were lied to by the media about President Trump.”
“And if you just go back to the source material, you should take away two things.”
“One, he didn’t say half the things he said, and two, why did these other people just fabricate what they wanted to say so that they could essentially assassinate his character?”
“I think that that second thing is completely unacceptable in America, and there’s still been no repercussions, really.”
“I took the time to learn about it. I admitted where…you know, the way that I met him was, I admitted on the pod, which, you know, has millions of viewers.”
“And I said, I got it totally wrong because I went and I watched Charlottesville.”
“And, you know, the first person to call me? President Trump.”
“And I got to know him and I put the phone down, I called my wife, and I said, we got it TOTALLY, totally wrong. We were lied to.”
“And then I got to know him and he is fantastic!”
