Seriously, Klitschko must go.

He has completely driven Kyiv into the ground with his incompetence, his brazen inaction in office, and his even more brazen endless excuses claiming that the mayor of the capital isn't entitled to doing anything for the city. Apparently, except for running schemes with mafia-connected developers.

He has thoroughly exhausted everyone over this past decade.

And even more exhausting are the armies of his bots on social media, who parrot his cries of “political persecution” and “authoritarianism” every time Kyiv collapses into total paralysis after an ordinary winter snowfall -- because the mayor is too busy traveling to security conferences across Europe and lecturing the media about global geopolitics.

Enough. This has gone on way too long.

The way he has been running the capital for nearly two decades is a disgrace. Especially compared to other major Ukrainian cities that are far less wealthy.

And especially in the middle of this war, with Russian strikes targeting heat and electricity infrastructure. The effort to procure mobile boiler units and generators to mitigate the consequences is a total failure. Yet his endless social media self-promotion on the heroic work of utility workers and energy crews never stops.

Kyiv, this great city with insane potential and rich history, deserves not just a better mayor than Klitschko.

It deserves at least someone who will actually do the job rather than throwing public tantrums on social media about how he has “no legal authority” to clear ice from sidewalks in winter.

With honor and dignity, our military contingent served in that country for almost 15 years alongside NATO forces, answering America’s call as a friend and ally — just as it had done in Iraq, despite the dire state of our own armed forces, then Russia’s invasion in 2014, and the grueling military reforms that followed.

And Ukraine stayed until the very end, alongside its friends, including the famous HUR mission to rescue and evacuate people from the Taliban-surrounded Kabul airport amid the boundless chaos of those days.

Meanwhile, he is just a petty arrogant motormouth who would not even be capable of such dignity, devotion, and solidarity.

Budanov, 39, ist in der Ukraine beliebt und gewissermaßen Kultfigur. Auch bei den wichtigsten Unterstützern, allen voran den USA, ist er anerkannt. Geheimdienstoperationen tief in RUS – wie etwa Operation Spiderweb – zählen zu den spektakulärsten ukrainischen Erfolgen in diesem Krieg.

Budanov tritt zurückhaltender auf als sein viel diskutierter Vorgänger Jermak und könnte damit auch die Rolle des Präsidialamts neu definieren. Anders als Jermak taucht sein Name bislang nicht im Zusammenhang mit der schwelenden Korruptionsaffäre auf.
