Being "fit" doesn't = being athletic.
Being "fit" doesn't = sport specific skill.
Abs and biceps don't score buckets, throw TD's, or win fights.
The reality is that training for aesthetics and training for performance are two VERY different pursuits.
Prioritize accordingly.
1/2- today was living proof of how smart, athlete centered and fun this philosophy is... and it works. We took 11 sprinters to districts, 9 were in finals, 9 going to Regionals- some in multiple events. 1 was ranked in the top 4 (place needed to qualify) coming into the meet.

I’m not being flippant when I say, we are always peaking, always race-ready. Performance will likely improve but we have zero periodization. We don’t grind early and then back-off late in the season. Always fast, rested.
