Raymond spent the last 3 years of his career (1969-72) with the Expos. He become the first Canadian/Quebecois player to play for the Expos.

Selkirk played his whole @MLB career with the #Yankees.

@CDNBaseballHOF Babe Ruth left the Bronx to play for the Boston #Braves in 1935. Selkirk played all 9 of his @MLB seasons with the #Yankees between 1934-42, hitting .290/.400/.483.

He would be part of the 1st group inducted into the Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame in 1983.

Canadian Baseball Hall of Famer George Selkirk took over right field duties for the New York #Yankees in 1935. He took over in right field, replacing this Hall of Famer and Bronx Bomber legend.

On September 17, 1935 Len Koenecke was found dead on a plane that landed at the Long Branch Race Track. The plane was supposed to fly from Detroit to Buffalo but an inflight fight led to the murder of the #Dodgers outfielder

The 2 men on the flight were acquitted of manslaughter

There had been a proposal to move Montreal's expansion Club to Buffalo, where War Memorial Stadium (home of the #Bills) was seen a spot for baseball.

Montreal Mayor Jean Drapeau had promised a domed stadium would be ready by 1971 - but the Big O didn't open until April 1977.

Before Montreal put together the Jarry Park plan the NL was considering giving Montreal's expansion franchise to another city. Which City was it?
