it reminds me of how angry people get when they can't afford something, and then try to justify stealing it. if you can't afford it you can't have it. does it suck? sure. but it is what it is.

You know what’s annoying?

Having to tip for a service you do not even want.

1. I travelled all this way carrying my bag, why do I want to give the bell hop money to bring it to me 20 minutes after I check in when I can have it right away carrying it on my own?

2. I go to the restaurant bathroom and wash my hands, I don’t want a guy to pour soap in my hands and hand me a towel. I can handle those tasks thank you.

If I go to the bathroom multiple times over a dinner, am I on credit for the first tip or do I have to pay for each soap drop and towel he hands me?

I don’t know anyone who needs this, or wants this. Do you?

I’m more than happy to tip for services that benefit me in some way, but do I really need to tip the guy who says “Where you headed” at the taxi stand and opens the door for me? How much is that gonna cost me?

Comment with other tips you pay for services you don’t event want, I’m curious!

It's important to recognize that $1.9 Trillion worth of car revenue from all the other car companies, combined, is valued at less than $1.6 Trillion. Or approximately 0.8x sales.

$TSLA revenues are ~$95 Billion. If it received similar valuation to avg car industry, it would get ~$75 Billion valuation.

So the remaining $1.5 Trillion part of Tesla's valuation is completely based on the potential of Robotaxis and Optimus.

So anytime someone says "Tesla's valuation doesn't even take into account the incredible potential of Robotaxis and Optimus," be sure to correct them and let them know that "actually, those 2 business opportunities with $0 in current revenue are being valued at roughly $1.5 Trillion!"

I saw lots of people saying that it would no longer have been self-defense to have shot the terrorist once he was disarmed, but this demonstrates why that’s not true.

In the first moments after he’s been stripped of his initial weapon, literally all you know about him is that he is a homicidal terrorist who is willing to take lives indiscriminately. You don’t know if he has other firearms or knives, and you can be fairly certain that if he moves away from you that he’s going to attempt to continue the attack as planned.

We do a very weird thing with the self-defense discourse where we expect people in the most stressful situation they’ll ever face in their entire lives to give extreme benefit of the doubt. They are meant to be calm, rational, considered. They should be weighing odds. And most of all, they should be giving their assailant every opportunity to live.

This is just plainly nuts. It’s a self-defense situation until he’s dead or behind bars.
