The Red Hot Chili Peppers line “Can’t stop, addicted to the shindig” really speaks to me as one of the many Americans struggling with shindig addiction
Good story in WaPo about how parlays (multiple bets in one) have grown in popularity. The sportsbook pushes them bc their take is much higher (20% vs 5% in NJ last year). Younger gen likes them bc they're higher risk/reward (82% of all bets by those aged 21-24 were parlays).
There's never been the combination of speed of play (ability to bet on every play) + ease of access (no friction). Combined with a younger gen trained to seek dopamine hits, sports gambling is materially different today than even a decade ago. I'm not sure this is what legislators thought they were signing up for.
Pete Carrol made the correct decision to throw the ball. 1 timeout left & needed to maximize his chances at the end zone.
The Patriots rehearsed the very play. Butlers INT was a result of great preparation, not error.
Kelvin Sampson ran a genius ATO taking advantage of how Purdue has defended BLOBs all season
You will see Purdue occasionally miscommunicate the coverage, but I haven't seen a coach fully take advantage of it like Sampson did here:
