At a recent hotel stay, I was amazed and amused by the illustrated instructions glued to the wall outside the shower, showing how to turn on the shower. I'm sure the signs were posted after countless calls to the front desk from confused hotel guests.
@cjforms@leeloowrites@DrMansoorMir@GinnyRedish@TecEd Actually, Caroline, you and are got our start in the same decade. I opened my first usability lab at my university in 1994. And, like you, still working in UX and still loving it.
For those of you who are interested in medical device usability testing, you might like to watch a podcast I did on issues around usability testing and human factors validation testing. Coming soon in 2 parts. https://t.co/xght6apNpE

On a recent Delta flight, which the flight attendant announced was on a new Airbus A321, I had a usability moment when I saw this note attached to the inside door of the restroom. Donald Norman's Design of Everyday Things lives!
@bjkraal I'm glad you're bringing this up again, as it's important to know what testing with 5 actually means. I did a short video on this topic, too. https://t.co/j6wTyUiGUK
@gerrygaffney Wish your dream could be turned into reality. I find that #UX produces many more jobs than #research. The problem I see is that many companies think anyone can do research if they can do design. The same may also be true for #designers who include research in their skillset.
@danachis@USDS@CMSGov@USPS Can anyone share whether any UX tools/techniques were used to develop the website? Maybe IDIs, usability testing, or expert review? Would love to share the good work of UXers at @USPS and @USDS on this.
@cjforms @candiwrites @GinnyRedish@TecEd What gets me up and going on every new project is the belief that I will learn something new. And I always do.

The democratization of UX research has pluses and minuses, in my view. An article by John Kille in @uxmatters does a good job of presenting the pluses. https://t.co/SxDsK3kWIp
Find out what makes a good moderator, based on a comparative usability evaluation study by 15 different moderators, including me. Results published in @UXPAJournal https://t.co/Gyrb3Efgtr
@SamuelHulick Shift to online for remote moderated and unmoderated studies. Lots of tools to support testing in different contexts. Lots of support for fast recruiting.
A lot has changed in #UX in the past decade since I wrote Usability Testing Essentials. The 2nd edition, just out, brings practice to the present. https://t.co/ElS2lhrSVn
@cjforms@botting_ella @benjystanton @GinnyRedish It was great to have an early look at the article, as it makes such an important contribution in emphasizing the need to test documents.
