@BillSpadea Protecting cash comes down to ensuring there is choice in the payments landscape.
Freewill = the fundamental right to choose.
If America is the land of the free, then there should be freedom of choice for all the land.
Such is the point of a social good like cash. #cashmatters
@gr8jrnydmh123 @RitchieTorres @nowthisnews Those who want to pay for their lunch with cash can only ‘go eat somewhere else’ so long as there are other places accepting cash.
But clearly you don’t give a flying banana what happens when businesses stigmatises cash and by extension cash-users. #ShameOnYou
@gr8jrnydmh123 @RitchieTorres @nowthisnews I am so sorry that you made yourself look like the problem on this one.
Even with a debit card, you need a home address and to be a certain age just to set up a bank account. EVERYONE, from the homeless to children, are able to use cash anytime; making it a necessary social good>
@guardian I love the Guardian for its excellent reporting, but this is one silly headline... people have been storing cash in everything from shoes to bras for centuries. Micro-bags aren’t new and cards require more pocket room then a bank note or some coins. Tsk, tsk...
@roniyuzam @chedetofficial@drwanazizah@guanenglim@DrDzul I disagree... without cash the government won’t have to do anything for anyone. Cash is a social good - the public should not let anyone (gov or private) take that away from them.
REALITY CHECK: it is safe to assume you’re speaking with a moron when you hear, “IF we go cashless, THEN the government should st least _[enter pitiful caveat]_.
As if doing the govt the favour of going cashless would increase your leverage on their policies and practices.
“People trust #cash; it’s free to use...it’s confidential, it can’t be hacked and it doesn’t run out of battery power – these unique qualities continue to hold significant value to people living on all continents."

@saj_anderson @ChrisMegraw2 @PostOffice Incorrect. When you give your nephew £5 in the form of cash, you are using cash. When he then uses it to buy himself something, he is also using cash. Honestly...

Are you ready for this jelly?
While @WeChatApp and @Alipay are conquering the payments market in #China, 200 million rural citizens are locked out of the #economy. The Chinese government is already feeling the impact of such exclusion and calls for a solution for the #unbanked.

Talk about scary! Yet another card processing network crashed AGAIN last night, leaving cashless folk in the lurch.
Stay safe this Halloween and don’t forget to carry cash 🎃 💰 👻 🕸🕷
@allpayGroup@bankofengland That’d be a better “way to find out where people TRULY prefer to use cash” than to ask if people would find it easier to do one week on one only.
This is a silly stat.
@allpayGroup@bankofengland Yeah ok, but 94% based on 16 twitter votes is hardly an accurate indicator of what people prefer. 🧐
Also... sorry to burst your bubble but the @bankofengland challenge is meant to be a *challenge* for those who are usually cashless to go cash only and vice versa....
@i_m_leon@snapdeal What if I told you that you could encourage payment diversity without discouraging the only fully dependable payment form that protects privacy and freedom? #ThursdayThoughts#cashmatters
