In May 2023, we collected UAS data at @GlacierNPS for avalanche & snow research directly supporting @NatlParkServlce operations along Going-to-the Sun Road. We worked closely with NPS to obtain proper permissions for this work; recreational UAS flights are prohibited in the Park.

Here is a lidar point cloud, a series of data points with x,y, and z (elevation) values colorized using natural-color imagery. It captures information about the topography and snow surface where an avalanche crossed the road.
