For anyone interested in what's happened to me you can find my story at https://t.co/z3Nm8BoU18 under "Catherine's story". This surgery has destroyed my life. If I can save one person from this my campaining is worth it 💜
@zarahsultana Thank you, Zarah. I'm absolutely petrified, as many other disabled people in this country. If I could work again, I would. I wouldn't wish what I have to deal with on anyone. I know many who say their only option would be to unalive themselves if this goes through. It's horrific
The UK spends 10.8% of GDP on welfare while France spends 23.8% and Finland spends 25.7%
Just remember that when you see #GBNews, the #Mail and #Sun and the likes of #Harwood, #Tominey and #Pearson demanding benefit cuts.
If someone has been deemed disabled and they can’t work, changing descriptors and moving goal posts doesn’t make them any less disabled or more able to work. The government are so pompous, ignorant, ableist and lack any ounce of empathy. They aren’t fit for the job.
@RichardBurgon This is what happens when you top slice the welfare bill. It hits absolutely everyone. It'll save no money (actually, it looks like it will cost money). It's so unfair that someone with a disability now will be better off than someone who gets ill in 18 months. It needs stopping
There has been no public consultation with disabled people about the proposals on PIP.
This is not just about process, it makes disabled people worse off.
I've just asked what the Work and Pensions Secretary will do to ensure her department regains the trust of disabled people
Whatever people’s views about the concessions, surely everyone can see the process here is ALL wrong?
Third Reading in eight days?
A timetable like that diminishes the role of MPs in getting this legislation right, shuts out disabled people and puts too many at risk.
I’ve signed this Reasoned Amendment to stop the Disability Benefit Cuts Bill.
I didn’t become an MP to make disabled people poorer.
The Labour Government needs to withdraw the Bill and go back to the drawing board.
@Keir_Starmer Like you are a grave threat to all the petrified disabled people in the UK right now. Most days, life is hard enough for us just to exist. You have zero understanding & your lack of empathy is disgraceful. There are many disabled people planning suicide if the cuts go through.
** WE'RE WARNING WHIPS - DISABLED WILL UNSEAT YOU ** !!
PASS IT ON @alancampbellmp !
"Whips are warning potential rebels that they will be blacklisted for any future government job for as long as Starmer is prime minister — even if they simply abstain."

In Parliament today, I called for the planned cuts to disability benefits to be scrapped.
We should not be balancing the books on the backs of the poorest. Instead, we should be taxing the wealthiest.
If the Government does not drop its plans, I'll be voting against the cuts.
@RichardBurgon Thank you, Richard. I can't tell you how much it means to those of us who are really sick and can't work. I'd love to be in a position to do so. For me, it's impossible. The worry and distress this is causing extremely vulnerable people is just terrible.
DWP might have to ditch major PIP and Universal Credit benefit cuts after 'urgent rethink'
A report by the Trussell Trust said the UK's elevated levels of poverty meant the economy was missing out on more than £38billion each year in potential output

"Working People"
It's really bothering me. Exclusionary of sick and disabled people, carers, parents.
We need to make life people for *EVERYONE* - Because that is how a society prospers.
