The WCA doesn't write people off. The WCA misses much severe illness but does at least recognise some.
In May 2024 @The_SSAC received regulations on changes to #WorkCapabilityAssessment descriptors. A General Election meant scrutiny couldn't be completed. A judicial review has since found the consultation for these changes was unlawful and DWP has withdrawn the regs, but ... 1/2

Breaking: We are delighted to share that our client @EllenClifford1 has won her case against the DWP over an unlawful consultation held on reforms tightening the #WorkCapabilityAssessment.
These reforms would lead to over 400,000 people being worse off by at least £416 a month.
Today our client @EllenClifford1 is in the High Court, challenging the DWP over a rushed and disingenuous consultation that was held on reforms tightening the #WorkCapabilityAssessment.
If these reforms go ahead, more than 400,000 people will be worse off by £416 a month.
In the hearing, DWP confirmed that they did NOT assess employment or disability impact before the consultation on #WorkCapabilityAssessment reforms.
This supports our position that these reforms are a money-saving exercise & not a real attempt to support deaf & disabled people
