@kerriandrewsuk Assuming this would be very dependent on national context - where I live (Norway) campaigns to promote "good practices for hiking" (including bringing a map) got a big push from the late 60s onwards, following multiple exposure-related deaths in 1967.
@WWAttribution Hi @WWAttribution , I tried to message you here on Twitter, but I'm only getting a "cannot be messaged" error! Any other way to get an invite to the press briefing?
@o_lough Oh wow! Never realised it looks like this! Did you ever read "To Sat Nothing of the Dog" by Connie Willis? Really great comedic sci-fi about time-travelling historians from 2057 trying to track down an artifact from the old cathedral, and stumbling into Victorian farce in 1888.
💔Harun represented the best of humanity in every way. Lucky we had him on this earth and in our team. My fave quote from him: "Each and every person here has huge potential. We just have to bring it out.”
It is very rare in life to meet people in whom intelligence, kindness, and humility all shine equally bright - and when you do, you never want to leave their side. Mr Harun Al-Rashid was one of those people. His work with the #CPP saved lives, and he inspired all who met him. 🕯
Sad news from Bangladesh today.
Founding member of #CPP Cyclone Preparedness Program in 1971 passed away after 50 years of contributions to saving lives across Bangladesh & Asia Pacific region through his #DRR efforts.
May you Rest In Peace & Glory Sir!
