On September 23, 1988, Ernest and Anneke Robinson welcomed the birth of their son, Matthew Stanford Robinson.
Matthew was born with severe disabilities. Due to a lack of oxygen, he was blind and paralyzed from the neck down.
Doctors said Matthew would only live for a few hours, but somehow, Matthew lived to be 10-and-a-half years old.
When it came time for Matthew to rest in 1999, Ernest decided his gravestone should be beautiful and unique, depicting Matthew in his truest form and signify hope rather than grief.
@AddressingLife Yes you will my friend at some point. It’s the reason God sent Jesus to earth.
Isaiah 35:5,6
At that time the eyes of the blind will be opened and the ears of the deaf will be unstopped..the lame will leap like the deer..the tongue of the speechless will shout for Joy
❤️❤️❤️
@AddressingLife Had a carer in New South Wales from Ireland. She emigrated to Australia from Ireland all on her own at 16. No friend or anyone on the ship that took 6 weeks. He will be fine 🤗
@AddressingLife@AnneRabbitte@TomClonan@LauraLynnHouse Tracy put a floor plan on the ad as when I bought a house with Ryan in mind the floor plan was the first thing I looked at. Also the size of the rooms and the width of the doors plus the bathroom. So as people can see the possibilities. Plus In Ireland the Ber is essential.
@AddressingLife 2) Sorry to question your judgement but I would be sad if you sold your home here and had to rent. I suppose with the two of you now you have the freedom to come and go. And all the best to you both whatever decision you make ❤️❤️❤️
@AddressingLife Tracy are you thinking of moving to Norway. Are you sure this is what you want. You would be struggling financially after 18 years of being a carer. Would life be any better in Norway with financial issues and health difficulties and in the rental market.❤️
@WrafterColette @TomClonan I believe it’s so important to unite and advocate for all. I joined Every Australian Counts and felt I could do my bit as a lot was done online. Everyone can have their say. Australia got the National Disability Insurance Scheme in 2013 Stronger together is correct
Expecting a new arrival? You may not have heard of a virus called cytomegalovirus (CMV). Congenital #CMV is the most common non-genetic cause of hearing loss and a major cause of childhood disability.
There are simple steps you can take to protect your baby 👇
@ProfoundIreland I agree. So many have to manage on such low money with the job done not recognised when caring role ceases. Gap in employment it’s called. However all moves forward to improve matters is welcome
@TomClonan@labour@sinnfeinireland@SeanadCEG Well done Tom. I’m of Irish origin and now live in Australia. My son RYAN is severely disabled in all areas and is now a participant in the Australian National Disability Insurance Scheme. Life changing for him and us. I hope Ireland can find something similar
@AccessForAll7@dalkeybookfest@adayinmywheels@struggleiswheel @mulvanypeopleb1 @CarersIreland Dalkey village is totally inaccessible for wheelchair users. I visit From time to time and never once seen a wheelchair user. Having two family members who need wheelchairs and one with close family in Dalkey it’s heartbreaking
CMV is over 30 x as common as toxoplasmosis (the cat poo one) or listeriosis (the blue cheese one), yet far fewer women know about it. Its the leading cause of childhood disability & hearing loss. If you're #pregnant you need to know. Click for more info https://t.co/ioDQuevcfy
