@daveainsworth4 @PeterASebastian Exactly (although some funders are happy/keen to fund groundbreaking projects that may fail so the charity can learn). Some impact may feel ‘exaggerated’ - not always untruthful - eg family of someone given a new wheelchair will benefit BUT in diff way to the user.

@john_rendel There’s definitely something in point 2 about culture. UK backed a female leader = loads of media chat about kitten heels 😡. I love that int female leaders are using FB live / being more casual / talking to kids directly = ⬆️trust.

@daveainsworth4 @PeterASebastian Mostly 👌, except bit about no appetite to measure. As a fundraiser I do want to measure impact to report to funders. But big challenge is satisfying those who want to see ‘value’ (‘how many people reached?’). We need to promote understanding of true cost of quality services.

Over a month and still no clear plan from govt on how funding will be distributed - other than to announce £75m to domestic abuse charities in a way that suggested it was extra, rather than 10% of the fund they’d announced 2 weeks earlier.
