Some West Virginians have a message for @Sen_JoeManchin: Please support strong action on #ClimateChange.
Short 🧵 follows with individual messages. Let's help to make sure their messages are received.
Thanks to Caleb Redick and Kathryn Lisinicchia for representing CCL and tabling at Renewable Energy Day at the Indiana Statehouse, hosted by @solarunitedneighbors! We had a great time talking with legislators and networking with folks from other statewide environmental orgs!
More and more companies are looking to bring manufacturing back to the U.S. The question is how to incentivize that. The answer is simple: a border carbon adjustment.

I think the pro-nuclear community needs to be clear in what we are asking for to save the world from #GlobalWarming. We are not looking to just keep #nuclear going, we are looking to expand it 20-fold to actually smack down #FossilFuels. We are not messing around.
Depending on the product segment, the U.S. steel industry is between 75% and 320% more carbon efficient than its foreign competitors, including China.
This means that the US steel industry stands to benefit greatly from its carbon advantage under a Border Carbon Adjustment. 🇺🇸
@CCMarimba @moi_o_see @JasonBordoff All of the above. A cash back carbon fee is the fastest way to incentivize investment in all those things: https://t.co/1F2UUZOahx
@BenjiBacker And the billions it tales to build a power plant. A federal cash back carbon fee would use the power of the market to stimulate investment in ALL advanced clean energy.
In Canada, nuclear workers provided 90% of the energy required for the Ontario coal phaseout, North America’s greatest greenhouse gas reduction. Ccoal workers were seamlessly transitioned into high quality jobs in nuclear facilities, a textbook template for a just transition.17/
@ClayDMontgomery@StephForSerious@ASSAMeeting@crampell@jimstockmetrics Canada modelled it's carbon fee on this: https://t.co/Iv18bbkmWV If you. as a prominent businessman, like it, you can help build the political will with an endorsement, or better yet, join us! https://t.co/tY9nYOcQZU
