Every day that passes without contact gives you more distance from the person you thought you knew. At first you miss them. You replay the memories, hold on to the good moments and wonder whether they miss you too. But as the days go by, the emotional attachment begins to loosen and you start seeing things more clearly. You realise that part of what you were grieving wasn’t necessarily who they were, but who you believed they could be. You fell in love with their potential, the promises they made and the version of them you hoped would eventually become real. The hardest part of letting go is accepting that the person you imagined may never have existed beyond your own hopes. No contact doesn’t just help you move on from someone. It can help you separate the person you actually knew from the person you wanted them to be.
Nothing kills a relationship faster than watching your partner give others the love, effort, and consideration you’ve been begging for. It makes you realize they’re capable of showing up for someone; they just choose not to show up for you.
Si tuviera que escribir sobre uno de los peores dolores que he sentido, hablaría del proceso tan doloroso que se vive cuando te alejas de alguien que realmente querías en tu vida y ver cómo a esa persona le da IGUAL.
