Good to renew dialogue with Hungary today as the Nordic-Baltic foreign ministers met with @_OrbanAnita on the sidelines of #FAC in Luxembourg.

The EU has recently been able to move forward on several decisions that are vital for strengthening European security and demonstrating unity and resolve.

Our discussions covered the key challenges facing Europe: support for Ukraine, increasing pressure on Russia, and advancing EU enlargement.

An important milestone for Ukraine’s EU accession process was reached today as all 27 EU Member States unanimously approved the European Union’s Position on Negotiation Cluster 1 at the COREPER meeting.

I am grateful to the Cypriot Presidency of the Council of the EU, the European Commission, and all EU Member States for their leadership, unity, and continued support for Ukraine’s EU accession.

This decision recognizes Ukraine’s reform efforts and demonstrates the EU’s commitment to a credible and merit-based enlargement process.

We now look ahead to the Intergovernmental Conference in Luxembourg on June 15, where Cluster 1 is expected to be formally opened for Ukraine. We remain focused on delivering reforms and advancing the accession process at a steady pace.

Together, we are bringing the reunification of Europe closer and building a stronger, more secure, and more united European future.

The Baltic Sea region countries have been among the strongest supporters of Ukraine and advocates of sustained pressure on Russia.

As Russia continues to escalate its aggression, we remain committed to increasing the cost of this war, as reaffirmed today at the ministerial session of the #CBSS in Sopot.

We also agreed on the need to strengthen deterrence and defence in the Baltic Sea region in response to growing security threats, including hybrid attacks, sabotage, GPS interference, and other destabilizing activities.

The #NB8 climate ambassadors met in Tallinn to discuss how today’s geopolitical tensions are reshaping climate diplomacy and to prepare for #COP31.

The impacts of climate change on human rights, global security, economic stability and migration cannot be sidelined. They demand continued focus.

With its commitment to international law, leadership in clean tech and innovation, and expanding renewable energy sector, the NB8 region is well placed to help guide Europe’s climate agenda.

Strengthening our capacity to adapt, innovate and cooperate will determine how well our societies withstand the challenges ahead.

Moscow’s desperate overnight attempt to break Ukraine’s will changes nothing: Russia is losing this war. By once again deliberately targeting civilians, it merely added further war crimes to the list for which it will, sooner or later, be held accountable.
