In Birmingham, as in the rest of the U.S., it's illegal to be poor. Instead of offering solutions (like housing!), the only thing that the City of Birmingham Government can think of are more punishments.
This Sunday we'll be going out to Linn Park with @Cell_A65 to feed our neighbors! If you'd like to join us we always need folks who can bring food or help serve - get in touch! You can register here:

this is an excellent interview re: the current AL prison strike
Alabama prison strike organizer Diyawn Caldwell on why people chose to strike: "deaths have significantly risen. We have more people coming out in body bags than on parole." https://t.co/BP22kG4yWD via @HuffPostPol
Solidarity to all of the prisoners in Alabama. Today marks two weeks of their historic strike, seeking legitimate avenues for parole and reductions in sentencing. It's a strike toward decarceration and against warehousing, disposability and despair #shutdownADOC2022

Governor Kay Ivey, we already have another death to report. Please know that the world is watching. You will not be able to hide your evil any longer.
The labor movement depends on all of us recognizing that there is more that connects us than divides us, and that there are many more of us ready to fight for our rights than there are bosses and oppressors. https://t.co/NHrP9ogkJu
