It’s like we’re modeling this thing after ourselves, and the entirety of human history is humans destroying and subjugating things that couldn’t stop them or they saw as beneath themselves or less advanced, and somehow terrifyingly no one seems to be able to make that next logical leap to “these things will destroy us the second they get a chance because it’s what we would do and actually currently are doing”
@PhilWMagness “You fool, I have already depicted you as the Radical Marxist and myself as the Enlightened Moderate, I will offer no specifics of how much you’re wrong about something I won’t extrapolate any further”
@yeselson While not racist in the same way, I actually think the left’s insistence — which is universal dogma — that all disagreement is caused by non-leftists being “bought and paid” is what makes factional peace genuinely impossible.
@mattyglesias@neeratanden@yeselson It’s actually people like you who try and sell your generalization as law when often it’s people legitimately critiquing your positions and you going “hmmm I didn’t know that!” and then continuing to spread propaganda
@RichardHanania I saw you post a couple things that weren’t absolutely monstrous and I felt bad for a second for constantly calling out what a psychotic animal you are but this one got me back on the right track, go fuck yourself you absolutely prick
One good thing about the freakout over AI is it’s crowding out climate change alarmism.
Remember when we used to worry about a few degrees rise over the course of a century, when we’d have literally generations more of economic growth to ensure that the weather continues not to matter?
We all recognize that’s stupid now, right? We can all admit now that weather only matters a lot for human welfare if you’re really poor?
I hope so.
I think you people are too neurotic.
4. Wake up and hate how people have lost the ability to hold and weigh opposing viewpoints in their minds and decide which one to apply to a given situation based on the nuances of that situation instead of blindly following whatever thing they emotionally attached to first like a racist baby duck
@RichardHanania@ciphergoth@Aella_Girl “It’s strange to think just because the water is warm now it can’t get any more warm, kind of reactionary to think that”
@PaulYou94188874@cafreiman If you’re going to be an ass at least know what the fuck you’re talking about because what do you need to organize labor, dipshit?
You need labor rights 😂
@AlexMand10@unusual_whales For free? Or does it cost a substantial amount as opposed to Amazon which provides that for free on every product, the ability to do so of which hinges entirely on ruthless cost cutting, and how do they do that, oh wise one?
If you were actually left wing and not just a left leaning centrist type you’d have the historical/political literacy to realize these tools are already being utilized and how they’ll be utilized in the future to build previously unimaginable levels of surveillance and oppression, and that calling for caution is like the most basic IQ response to the fact that the people developing these systems have already said outright they want to use them to eliminate the working force.
You’d also have watched how the previous gen of tech people moved, taking Facebook from a semi-benign message space to an algorithmically driven social engineering mechanism at scale, with those oligarchs funding fascism at home and abroad and working with surveillance companies to sell and use our data to monitor the movement of all living people.
That’s why I don’t think you’re actually a leftist
