Our pre-seed round had 60 angels.
When we started hosting events, I could call on all 60 of them to show up. Ofc, not all of them could. But some would. And they'd bring all the credibility associated with them + their own networks.
We got both the money and the distribution. A single large fund gives you one check and one set of relationships. 60 angels give you 60 different doors.
Meet Benjamin Alexander, our new Chief Compliance Officer.
Benjamin comes to us from Column, where he re-built their compliance program. Before that, JPMorgan, HSBC, CFSB.
Now his mission is to build again โ this time from scratch, for the first clearing bank of the AI era.
Started the morning at the @NYSE opening bell ๐(sans my volcom cap ๐งข), chatting through the next phase of enterprise stablecoin expansion, including:
+ our Argentina ๐ฆ๐ท launch of stablecoin corporate cards for enterprises (and how it serves as a blueprint for multiple country launches a year!) ๐ช
+ the vote on the CLARITY Act today ๐ and how it impacts the future of stablecoin adoption.
+ how enterprise stablecoin infrastructure is very different from consumer โ
+ why @jeeves_inc ๐ฆ is uniquely positioned to win in the global south with our combination of fiat & stablecoin enterprise grade rails.
Thanks for the invite and hope to be back on the NYSE soon but next time with a bell included ๐ Letโs go! ๐
This could be Sineadโs best essay yet, an argument that Irelandโs asylum policy is not compassionate but cynical and cruel
โAnd when those communities said so; when the people who had been failed by the state for decades pointed at the hotel and said โthis isnโt workingโ, they were called racist. By politicians with private healthcare, by commentators who owned their homes, and by an establishment class that had likely experienced precisely zero competition for any public resource in their entire lives.โ
She finishes with a warning that the effects now visible in working class communities will move upward toward middle class communities.
And itโs the middle class that cause revolutions.

.@FerdiDabitz: "The dollar is the best product in the history of the world. Insane PMF. There's quasi-infinite global demand for it, especially outside of the United States."
"There are all kinds of quantitative ways to think about this. Europe and the US contribute 40% of global GDP, but they contribute 80% of global reserve holdings and money movement."
"There are also qualitative ways to think about it. The existence and frankly commercial success of the stablecoin stack is a pure expression of this thesis."
1/ There is so much to be said about the bank charter, the approval and how weโre re-thinking clearing for the AI era. But first, I wanted to take 2 minutes to talk about why โAugustusโ.
It could actually be a significant problem that Europe doesn't have enough garages. This sounds like a joke, but I'm serious. Garages let you work on stuff that doesn't matter yet, which is how big things often start. The outliers of ideas need the outliers of space.
๐ข Excited to announce @AnamcaraCap's participation in the $4.1M pre-seed round of Omniscient led by @seedcamp
