Too many kids have been taught that the goal of HS sports is to achieve an ATHLETIC scholarship - here’s the truth: the goal of HS sports is to learn how to be a better person, better teammate, better communicator & to enjoy being a teenager...something you can’t get back.
@CapturingChrist@HwsEleutheroi@javierperd2604 The Catholic Church teaches in the mass they are re-presenting an unbloody sacrifice, and yet these "miracles" amount to blood in the liquid from the fallen elements. Self-contradictory.
Conduct detrimental huh …..🤔
Hey Jaden Ivey - be encouraged
Jesus said- "If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated me first" John 15:18
“Be on your guard, stand firm in the faith, act like men. Be strong and let all you do be done in love” 1 Cor 16:13
“Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness' sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven" (Matthew 5:10)
@1984_nate@thescriptures1 You seem to struggle to understand this point: The Bible clearly teaches men hate God; we can do nothing other than that (see the verses I already quoted). God doesn't have to force us to do evil. We willfully choose it because we want to. He has to change our "want".
@DustinSJenkins You've added words to Hebrews 2:2 that aren't there to change the meaning, then demand people answer why they are there? How dishonest of a discussion. You've also been called out on this and still demand an answer. This isn't an honest discussion on the topic.
@1984_nate@thescriptures1 In Calvinism all men are actively enemies against God and do not want to do otherwise (Romans 3:10-18, 8:5-8) and God chooses freely to save some (the Elect) and give the rest justice. No one gets injustice. Your response assumes God owes salvation to sinners that hate him.
@MrTimothyRenfro Non-Calvinist: God isn't able to save everyone because he tried his best and they were too strong for God to change their mind. He really wanted too though.
See - we can create caricatures and argue against them just as good as you can.
To answer you OP: for His own Glory.
@RisingDisciples@CherylSchatz You assume all humans actually want to be saved; scripture says otherwise (Romans 3:10-18). Scripture also says they do not have the ability to (Romans 8:5-8). You should understand what Calvinism actually teaches about man before arguing against it.
@ProvisionistP The provisionist agrees that God was surprised had to react & adjust when Eve sinned, since that wasn't his plan and he had to go to plan B, or C, or D.
