@dushyanthsridar There's one temple dedicated to Lord Nrasimha in Maddur on the way to Mysore. Don't take the expressway as you'll have longer detour to the location. At the entrance of Maddur, ask for Ugra Nrasimha, if you've not already seen it. Lord's beauty & sculptor's work, short of words.
Today is the martyrdom day of Sivaganga King Muthu Vaduganatha Thevar, husband of Velu Nachiyar.
He was among the earliest kings of Tamilakam to challenge British authority. He strongly resisted their attempts to force the Palayams into paying tribute and to gradually usurp the samasthanams.
He defeated the British in their attempt to capture Madurai, inviting the ire of the British Governor. They later launched another attack against him with the help of the traitor Yusuf Khan, aka Marudha Nayagam. Muthu Vaduganatha Thevar defeated him too and drove him out.
The British then offered a ceasefire, which Muthu Vaduganatha Thevar accepted in good faith. With the ceasefire in effect, he went unarmed to Kalayar Kovil for darshan. It was then that the British forces launched a surprise attack. Muthu Vaduganatha Thevar and his second wife, Gowri Nachiyar were shot dead by Captain Abraham Bonjour.
But the flame of resistance did not die. It was carried forward by Queen Velu Nachiyar, who would go on to become one of the earliest and fiercest voices of Bharath’s freedom struggle.
I led a @ficci_india CEO delegation to China and visited companies like BYD, Geely, Midea, Mindray.
My 3 top takeaways:
1. China is like a no frills fighting ring. Extremely competitive. Businesses operate at margins (2-3%) global boards would never approve. Only market share matters and there is no concept of ROI. The few who survive are the toughest and the best.
2. R&D and automation are at the highest levels. The scale of automation and R&D investment at these companies is built for a 10-year time horizon, not a quarterly one. They celebrate innovators, have walls of patents and dark factories with unmatched efficiency.
3. The state is a silent shareholder everywhere. Cheap capital, land, power, and policy support at a scale that fundamentally changes unit economics. As long as you service interest (@ only 2-3%), debt doesn’t have to be paid back. This isn’t a level playing field.
1008 litres milk was used for Abhishek of Hanumanji at Famous Namakkal Anjaneyar temple in Tamilnadu
That’s the devotion and rituals followed by Tamil Hindus 🔥
The 4,000-year-old Sinauli chariot, excavated in 2018 from the ancient burial site of Sinauli, stands among the most significant archaeological discoveries in recent decades.
Buried in a ceremonial grave and richly adorned with copper, the chariot reflects the sophistication of a warrior elite that flourished around 2000–1900 BCE. Crafted from wood and sheathed in copper sheets, it features two solid wheels mounted on a fixed axle and connected to a yoke by a central shaft. The wheels are embellished with striking copper triangular inlays arranged in concentric circles, showcasing remarkable craftsmanship.
Its semi-circular seat is supported by a framework of copper pipes, while the front structure rises into a distinctive canopy-like form. Excavations at Sinauli also uncovered copper weapons, shields, helmets, and other elite grave goods, underscoring the site's importance as a ceremonial and martial center.

The Sinauli site is extremely important because it breaks down the myths propagated by Marxist writers that swords and horses weren’t present in India during the Sindhu Saraswati civilisation timeline, and were later imports.
Sinauli site gave us ~
a) copper engraved shields and antenna swords with intact copper wired wooden hilts;
b) remains of horse driven chariots.
Sinauli site brought to limelight evidences of a 4000 year old warrior clan in ancient India, and the presence of women warriors.
@swamin400 each temple at superficial level clockwise will take easily 10-12hrs from outside and the inside. Experts like you would probably spend a week on each temple at places like Kumbakonam, Bhoginandishwara, Somanathpura to name a few.
That calf is sleeping so relaxed under care of aunty (Mausi). From our pilkhana.
In elephant families raising kids is whole groups responsibility. Specially females.
As African proverb says “it takes a village to raise a kid”. And elephants took it seriously.
A splendid accomplishment by our young hockey players!
Congratulations to the Indian Men’s U18 Hockey Team on winning the Men’s U18 Asia Cup 2026. The team displayed exceptional skill and teamwork throughout the tournament, culminating in a memorable victory in the final. This triumph also reflects hockey’s growing popularity among our youth. My best wishes to the team for their future endeavours.
