I enjoyed learning more about unions. I was unaware that the steady decline in union membership since the 1980s has been driven by the decline in the private sector, and gov. workers in unions has held steady. #HRunion#SCSU#MGMT352ch15#2021spring#SCSUmgmt352@huskymgmt
I found it interesting reading about the pay ratio reporting for CEO’s. It compares the CEO pay to the median employees pay. So the higher the ratio, the more the CEO is making and the less the employees are making. #HRpay#SCSU#SCSUmgmt352#MGMT352ch12#2021spring@huskymgmt
I never realized how much goes into performance mgmt from a strategic, administrative, and developmental purpose. Without performance mgmt, we wouldn’t be able to see the areas that we need feedback and improvements on. #HRperformance#SCSU#MGMT352ch10#2021spring@huskymgmt
1/2 I liked chapter 8 because companies that encourage and help employee development are valuable. Something new I learned was the four categories of employee development: Interpersonal relationships, formal education, job experiences, and assessment.
@nickbscsu @huskymgmt I like the hands on training better too. Training over watching videos doesn’t keep my attention and I think it’s a lot more fundamental to the new hire to see first hand what they need to do #HRtraining#MGMT352ch7#2021spring#SCSU#SCSUmgmt352
There’s a lot I learned in chapter 7 about assessing needs of training, ensuring readiness, planning for a training programs, implementation and evaluation of results. Training benefits the org. and motivates employees. #HRtraining#MGMT352ch7#SCSUmgmt352#2021spring@huskymgmt
